No Veg or mayo. There's no chance in hell of getting ds to eat veg, curry, chilli or mayo.

Hmmm...but if he eats well at home, than why is it so important what he eats on the occasions you are out?
I think I might be missing something here...so, just ignore me

Because I can't get ham and cheese in all the places we go and I don't want him to go hungry. They burnt his toastie in a cafe last week, he wouldn't eat anything else so ended up with fruit as I wouldn't sit there and eat my food when he has nothing. If he has a bigger liking then he could have alot more choice IYSWIM.

When growing up we always had corned beef and grated cheese with jacket potatoes. And lashings of butter of course.

FairLadyRandySlut · 14/02/2009 22:07

oh right...makes sense now....

has he had a bad experience when eating in a cafe/restaurant...just wondering, if he is eating a more varied diet at home and just refuses outside the home...than it seems to be a psychological thing...

scrooged · 14/02/2009 22:12

He refuses veg (apart from peas, this took him years, and cucumber) at home. He has a varied diet but the only sandwiches/panini/jacket he'll eat are ham and cheese. If they have salad on them he'll not eat it or eat around the salad, eating whatever it's not touched. He used to be a good eater, then he started nursery! I can't always get what he'll eat when we are out.

Did you grow out of it can'tsleep?

Make a carbonnara or cheese sauce and introduce different ingredients to tempt his taste buds.

I ask ds to just try everything once, if he doesn't like it he can tell me and I promise to never serve it again.
If it's really out there I give him a normal version and he just tastes mine. He developed a love of snails that way!
