Any suggestions?

why do you want him to?
Serious question.
I now have cheese on jackets, some times beans and sometimes bol sause. But really I just like them with cheese. I usually have something else with them but don't like my food being mixed (and never have).
I can't understand why this is a problem, you make whatever you want to go on your and he has his plain - or would he eat the whatever on the side?

scrooged · 14/02/2009 20:26

He's 9. I've been cooking him jacket potatoes/sandwiches/pannini's with only ham and cheese (occasional beans) for 7 years! I've had enough!

Salt and vinegar? (barf!)

is that ALL he eats>

littlerach · 14/02/2009 20:29

salt and vin on a jacket pot is deliciois.

scrooged · 14/02/2009 20:29

It's driving me nuts chasingsquirrel! he's just so predictable. I'd like him to be brave and try new things, my problem, not his.

I was him (and I am still crap with food), hence me sticking up for him.
Does he eat other stuff though, or just jackets/sandwiches.

scrooged · 14/02/2009 20:32

Yes, just not alot of veg (just peas and cucumber), no spice. It would be nice for him not to read the ingredients on a sandwick when I take him out incase it has mayo/veg.

tuna with mayo

coleslaw

lou33 · 14/02/2009 20:35

oh just saw he doesnt like tuna or mayo

scrooged · 14/02/2009 20:35

No mayo, coleslaw has veg and mayo, he'll eat a tuna steak but not canned tuna.

Will he eat mince?

Or just chicken and gravy.

Sausage slices? (if you mash up the inside of the baked potato with some butter would just be like sausge and mash really)

scrooged · 14/02/2009 20:37

Or curry, chilli, veg..... He does eat well though, lots of fruit, meat, potatoes, as many peas and cucumber as I can get him to eat.

OP posts:
scrooged · 14/02/2009 20:39

Mince yes (unless he can see the veg so I blend them )

Sausages are a really good idea. Chicken's good, what about chicken in pasta sauce?

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 14/02/2009 20:42

barbecue!

scrooged · 14/02/2009 20:44

What? the potato?

noonki · 14/02/2009 20:54

does he have sn?

if not, I would get tough.

My parents did with me.

they made a new dinner. I ate it or went hungry, no fuss from them if I left it but nothing else but that till the next meal.

It worked I now eat most things (bar liver, kidney beans and celery as they are the foods of the devil )

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 14/02/2009 20:55

Have one fussy eater myself and am a semi expert in hiding veg .

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 14/02/2009 20:59

Chicken in pasta sauce is a good idea..pasta sauces are great for hiding blended veg in!!

scrooged · 14/02/2009 21:05

He doesn't have sn, he's very, very bright though and picks things up very quickly. I have got tough with him, he gags and cries. Food shouldn't be like this. He eats most of what I make, I just want him to eat sandwiches/jackets in a cafe that are not just ham and cheese. He's limiting himself so it's going to be hard if there's no ham and cheese on the menu.

Pizza toppings are also fab at hiding veg!

OP posts:
ChasingSquirrels · 14/02/2009 21:08

It IS hard, I hate not being able to just eat whereever, and it has limited things.
BUT I also gag when faced with foods that I really don't like (I have got better but some things I just can't eat - ok I probably could if I was literally starving - but I'm not).
I gag at tea (the drink) ffs.
If you can expand what he eats - great.

scrooged · 14/02/2009 21:34

He's really brave, I did get him to try a little chicken pasta that was a little spicy last week. He did mostly eat the chicken and dry pasta though. He'll say he's full if I give him something he doesn't like so would rather not eat it or pick at it. I feel terrible when he does this. He never asks for something else.

Sorry scrooged, I guess that was a little vague A restaurant here does these wonderful stuffed potatoes with barbecue and maybe other things he doesn't like such as baked beans and a topping of cole slaw. It sounds weird and unappetizing but they are truly wonderful.
