No, sadly not. But then I don't do cooking, that's DH's job!

CarGirl · 07/02/2009 13:31

My Mum had one from the war rationing but I don't think I brought it with me when I left home, shame!

Does it still have the recipe for melting moments in it?

mrsmaidamess · 07/02/2009 13:32

Is it full of recipes involving tripe ?

Miggsie · 07/02/2009 13:36

I have my mum's copy from the 70's. We used to cook together from it
Definitve cake and jam tart recipies...I am now using it with my DD

puffling · 07/02/2009 13:36

I used to do the boiled fruit cake. Didn't know you could still get the book.

grobag · 07/02/2009 13:43

I bought a new one recently. Yes CarGirl, still has recipe for Melting Moments.

Moondancer · 07/02/2009 13:52

You can buy these from the c0-op (99p). They are brilliant - all basic storecupboard ingredients.

SoupDragon · 07/02/2009 13:54

I got one after reminiscing about the Almond Rounds and being pointed in the direction of the website my a MNer.

I have one! Frightfully dated now but I wouldn't give it away for love nor money . Mine is about 15 years old and has the twinkly eyed granny and the Alice in Wonderland grandchild on the front cover

DebInAustria · 08/02/2009 13:56

I think I'll have a look and make something!

EldonAve · 08/02/2009 13:58

I don't have one but a uni housemate did
It was v good, we did lots of biscuits from it

Aniyan · 08/02/2009 14:06

I have one - was given to me by my mum when I left home nearly 20 years ago.

I can recommend the highlander biscuit recipe - dead easy and they are delicious

subtlemouse · 08/02/2009 14:09

I have my DH's - it was his mum's and I think dates to the early 1970s. Still reliable for things like yorkshire pudding quantities...

MaryAnnSweetheart · 08/02/2009 14:11
