I rarely bake. But I do love to.
Today I made a Lemon and white chocolate cheesecake.

The other day did Banoffee mess.

mynaughtylittlesister · 01/02/2009 23:13

The last cake I made was a chocolate and beetroot cake.
It was rather yummy, even DD3 (who can be a fussy eater) thought the beetroot was delicious - It was the chocolate chips that she liked!!!!!! - bless

Really all the beetroot gives is a rather gorgeous colour.

SoMuchToBits · 01/02/2009 23:44

Not a cake, but made mince pies (to use the last of the Christmas mincemeat) and jam tarts this afternoon. Yum!

StirlingTheStrong · 02/02/2009 09:38

mynaughtylittlesister I was just talking to someone about the chocolate and beetroot cake and we were wondering whether it would be nice!

The carrot cake I made last night is lovely - lots of orange zest and juice in it gives it a great flavour

Me and dd made a trifle yesterday!

DumbledoresGirl · 02/02/2009 10:17

chocolate sponge on Saturday. Perfect as always (preens)

BonsoirAnna · 02/02/2009 10:18

I made a strawberry tiramisu last Friday, a chocolate truffle cake last Thursday, and a chocolate and almond cake last Wednesday .

I hardly ever make cakes or desserts, but was on a roll trying to use up ingredients that were past approaching their use-by dates .

Cies · 02/02/2009 10:19

Does the honey sponge pudding I made on Saturday count as a cake? It was deliciously sticky and yummy.

PortAndLemon · 02/02/2009 10:20

A chocolate, potato and cherry cake for DS's birthday (needed something quite solid so that I could carve it for decorating and knew that particular cake would do the job).

Sazlocks · 02/02/2009 10:21

I made a victoria sandwich yesterday and it was lovely

AbbyLubber · 02/02/2009 10:34

Red Velvet Cake for a raspberry trifle at the weekend.

Before that a lemon pound cake. I bake often because it's so calming.

GossipMonger · 02/02/2009 10:42

A chocolate cake with ds2 yesterday.

As it came out of the oven we put blocks of plain choc on the top so they melted and we didnt have to melt it in a pan of boiling water.

Sandwiched it together with nutella. Yum!

Lemontart · 02/02/2009 10:45

Made orange and pumpkin seed muffins yesterday with the kids [smug smiley insert here]
Oh and did a nice round of fluffly american style pancakes for Sunday brunch too (not really cakes but were sweet and yummy all the same)

Planning on making a banana bread later as I noticed a few of them were looking a little past their best in the fruit bowl this morning.

WEESLEEKITLauriefairycake · 02/02/2009 10:46

I have banana choccy muffs in the oven now

Fragolina · 02/02/2009 10:49

PeachyBAHonsPRSCertOnRequest · 02/02/2009 11:06

MAde ds2's birthday cake (party wqs yesterday_ as a first birthday cake I was quite proud of it. Triple chocolate chip, iced in blue (with edible glitter from the poncy shop) waves on the bottom half of a square, white ot top, name on the white and a dolphin (fish / sealife mad) on the join; blue roll out on the sides.

PeachyBAHonsPRSCertOnRequest · 02/02/2009 11:08

Stirling (ds2) said the cake was embarassing thogh- all his friends get 'proper bought ones'. Spoilt tike.

MrsMattie · 02/02/2009 11:08

Cake? You mean, from scratch?

I am making Dora the Explorer fairy cakes from a packet this afternoon with DS, if that counts?

PeachyBAHonsPRSCertOnRequest · 02/02/2009 11:08

Lemontart- muffin recipe please?

WEESLEEKITLauriefairycake · 02/02/2009 11:12

recipe Gossipmonger? I just put the following ingredients in a jug, stirred roughly and put it in a silicon muffin mould

Some selfraising flour, 2 bananas, 2 teaspoons cadburys chocolate powder, some dark chocolate chips, one egg, ginger and cinnamon powder (about a teaspoon), few drops vanilla essence. Add milk til thick mixture - leave lumpy and don't overstir.

15 minutes-ish in oven.

WEESLEEKITLauriefairycake · 02/02/2009 11:14

oops - and some caster sugar (about 3 tablespoons-ish)

alicecrail · 02/02/2009 11:17

I made a plum tray bake with cheesecake ripple, from waitrose recipes last week. fantastic
