oooh! posh!

never had duck 'in' or 'out'

isn't it fatty?

pixiefish · 02/04/2005 17:12

put it on the rack in the oven with a tray underneath rather than in the tray IYSIM- that way the fat drips off

mmm - sounds nice - might give it a whirl next time we're out (maybe tomorrow night!)

enjoy!

flamesparrow · 02/04/2005 17:22

Nooooo Don't eat the cute little ducks!!!

(I do eat all the other cute little animals, just get passionate about ducks for some unknown reason...)

hunkermunker · 02/04/2005 17:23

FS, Cod only eats ugly ducks, I'm sure The ones with wonky beaks and squitty eyes.

flamesparrow · 02/04/2005 17:24

Ahh, thats ok then

milliways · 02/04/2005 17:24

Prick the skin all over with a fork (allows fat to darin out), sprinkle skin with salt, place on rack (grill rack will do) & roast. Get some plum sauce! or Sweet chilli dipping sauce.

Cod, Nigella says quite a bit about ducks in How to Eat, have you got it?

miggy · 02/04/2005 19:03

Yes-the nigella twice cooked duck is fab-never goes wrong. You have to boil it-but can do that tonight, then whack it in a really hot oven when ready to eat. its in the cooking in advance bit of how to eat.
A lovely and easy sauce is the delia one-morella cherry jam (about 1/2 jar) boiled with some red wine-about a glass (check delia though!).

Isn't Duck a l'orange very Abigail's Party?

Better with plum sauce and pancakes.

What healthy carnivores you are raissing.

DD will eat chicken, ham, bacon and sausage.

She took one look at roast lamb and said

'dog food mum'

fairyfly · 02/04/2005 20:18
