Aww, I was hoping it was going to be along the lines of that old KFC hoax - you know the one where the bloke goes to the cinema, bites into his fried chicken and blood spurts out...then it turns out that he was actually eating a FRIED RAT!! (mwa hahahhaarrr - err, maybe I should've waited for Halloween before telling that one).

Anyway I used to know someone who worked at Maccy D's years ago. His colleagues used to spit in the chips and put bogey in the burgers. And that is apparently true, if that young Essex whippersnapper is to be believed. In the interests of preserving MN's status in the community I should add that once discovered the offending creatures were dispatched never to return to the golden arches.

I know! Oh the beauty of blind faith...

Still. The fact that the Subway manager actually sanctioned giving you a sarnie off the floor beggars belief. Stone him!

jenk1 · 07/10/2008 21:58

might be cos he thought it would taste better off the floor, you know the ingredients would have mixed up more?

we went to the chip shop the other day

girl put salt on chips, even though I'd say No thanks, to her question about salt/vinegar twice

I have a great fondness for Subway having lived in the USA. There, it's the healthiest you can get amid all the fast food burger chains.

I do think it is a faff having to specify exactly what you want in them (gimme a M&S sandwich any day).

My standard is a 6" Sweet Onion Chicken Teriaki on wheat, with American cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, olives and cucumbers - and SOCT sauce.

MrsThierryHenry · 07/10/2008 22:03

Yikes! Subway is the healthiest food you can get in the USA?

Think I'll stay off of them thar foreign shores...

jenk1 · 07/10/2008 22:04

im leaving this thread now,im extremely traumatised by all this anti-subway feeling,i feel the need to go and have a lie down.

Healthiest for under five bucks

YellowGoatGruff · 07/10/2008 22:07

It really is the healthiest of an awful bunch. When I was over there on holiday I ended up buying crudite trays from the supermarket to satisfy my craving for veg.
