It goes in phases. There are times when I can eat a little bit of chocolate and just 2 glasses of wine. And then there are the times when nothing less than 100g will do and most of a bottle.

DH has been a very good influence on me.

Before I would have had lots of choc and too much wine. Now, we may or may not have wine with supper, and if we do it´ll be a glass or two each max. So a bottle lasts 3 nights.

SmugColditz · 18/09/2008 20:50

Choc - no problem. 1 square a week, if I remember.

Wine - well, I can have one glass if I'm on my own.

But if I'm out, I'll polish off a bottle and a half and feel like shit the next day.

Happily, this is a rare event.

BigTeuchLittleTeuch · 18/09/2008 20:53

oh bugger...now I have to go and eat the rest of chocolate since you have reminded me that it was there...

well ive eaten a whole family size bag of peanut m&m's today and am currently half way through the minstrels and a glass of wine i keep going till i have pains in my arms! i never used to be like this!!! wine max 2 large glasses and i physically cant have any more but chocolate, god, i eat it compulsively and you know i dont think i even like it.

Ceolas · 18/09/2008 20:59

1-2 glasses of wine no problem. Could take it or leave it actually.

But chocolate? Hooverer

blowsy · 18/09/2008 21:00

Wine - can easily stop at two.

Chocolate - would eat every last piece in the house, even stuff I don't like. So, therefore, do not have ANY in the house and dh is under strict instructions not to buy it. (Easter is a nightmare.)

I have a problem with chocolate.

Oh I am not snobby in the least about chocolate, but coffee has to be ground.

VictorianSqualor · 18/09/2008 21:12

I've just worked out why sometimes I can and sometimes I can't only have a glass or two.
Sometimes, I start drinking later and fall asleep.

Can I just be clear?

What size of bar are we talking about?

Mines is a 390g tiny, wee bar

ClairePO · 18/09/2008 21:13

Undisciplined hoover with wine, OK with choc.

Not self-disciplined, more self-regulatory. After two glasses of wine I am half-cut and automatically stop because I know I will tip over the edge and start to feel queasy and unhappy.

Chocolate - if I'd eaten lotws of other stuff first, I could pass on the chocolate. I find it hard not to eat a whole tub of houmus once I have started.
