Could I have some inspirational soup ideas please

Am getting quite good at cooking rather than relying on ready-made stuff. Trouble is that the only soup I've managed is a veggie one and lentil one off another thread.

Could someone give me some other ideas as my oh doesn't mind soup and a pud of some sort as an evening meal once a week & it's saving me a fortune making my own!

Tia

Thanks, stiringmum!
Made a variation today of what I remembered. Missed the chilli and beans out but it was still good.

roased garlic and marrow.
Roast a whole head of garlic in a hot oven (v wasteful, actualy unless you are sing it for something else!) meanwhile lightly fry chunks of marrow in butter, add stock, stew, when garlic roasted, break off cloves and squidge them into the marrow, liquidise the lot, season. Very nice and great for people who won't eat marrow!
