because, for those of you who do not know, I live a tad outside the delivery range.

I haven't done this for 4 years.

What must I not miss?

I'm starting in the bakery section.

Il ove lurking on bootcamp thread (as you well know) and seeing what you have eaten.
Tis a veritable chorizo, cava & salmon fest.

suzywong · 24/08/2008 13:18

don't get me started on australian supermarkets, MD, the small producers and delis, perhaps, but no one who will bring quality trough and slap it straight on your kitchen table.

I've registered and everything, false name natch, so can I do my fantasy list and just legg it without paying?

And is no one else giving a rat's hat about the closing Olympic ceremony either?

OP posts:
Cappuccino · 24/08/2008 13:20

WideWebWitch · 24/08/2008 13:20

moondog · 24/08/2008 13:22

I am going cerazeee on prawn front her in Bangladesh. I thkn they supply most of 'em to other places. Looking at some today as big as a baby's arm.

suzywong · 24/08/2008 13:25

I've been eating a LOT of lamb cutlets in all sorts of marinades, on my IPD.

What do yo imagine they are feeding those prawns, MD? . And have you noticed the veritable explosion in Homes for One Armed Babies in ?

I will post my fantasy list, I will be doubling up on many things as this is pure greed/porn.

I 'm still on the bread, which of course I do not eat in anycase.

WideWebWitch · 24/08/2008 13:25

Omg, I have just put 2 trays of roast potatoes into the oven, with rosemary, garlic cloves and salt and pepper and I know they will be these golden gleaming things and I can't have any. Never mind, can have chicken breast and skin with butter, thyme, garlic stuffed under the skin and I can have broccoli and green beans and mange tout but not peas or carrots or baby sweetcorn

WideWebWitch · 24/08/2008 13:26

yum at prawns in bangladesh moondog, what's it like out there? Are you enjoying it?

suzywong · 24/08/2008 13:27

OP posts:
suzywong · 24/08/2008 13:28

OP posts:
moondog · 24/08/2008 13:30

Oh it's great.
Mad,chaotic, colourful, fabulous buildings, paddy fields of emerald green, lots of poverty (not so good obv.).

Food is wonderful and best bit (as have boasted repeatedly about on MN) is housekeeper who cooks like a dream. I haven't done owt in 6 weeks.

Actually, it is interesting leaving cooking and shopping to someone else. I eat less as he doesn't buy what I would buy.e

suzywong · 24/08/2008 13:33

and how's the child slave labour market? A friend of mine who works for the World Bank in Asia told me Bdesh is probably the worst place for it?
But obviously you are not directly responsible for it nor do you have any links to it so let's move on.

Are you in a compound with other expats? Can't imagine you there if you are. You must be on your best behviour

Feck I forgot to add a slab of angel cake to my bakery list

OP posts:
suzywong · 24/08/2008 13:34

there ain't none!
Granola traybake, wtf?

OP posts:
moondog · 24/08/2008 13:36

Child slave labour big issue.
I have seen factories where garment industry based and tis a hellhole.
Worst thing is begging. Dear God, tis like Hades=crippled, deaf, blind, maimed, learnig disabled, disfigured.
Stuff of nightmares.

lol at compoun idea. No way. It's not like that here, than God.

Cappuccino · 24/08/2008 13:38

oh dear lord Moondog you are not allowed to say crippled

go and stand in the corner and wring your hands

suzywong · 24/08/2008 13:39

yes, the special needs care is far more commercially orienteted over there isn't it? Shudder

so what are you in then, an ordinary middle class street? What's it like?

Who is Mrs Crimble? She seems to be rather aggressive on the biscuit front?

OP posts:
suzywong · 24/08/2008 13:42

there's an awfully big market for museli in JohnLewisPartnershipLand, is there not?

OP posts:
moondog · 24/08/2008 13:43

I think 'crippled' is apt epithet for emaciated hairless woman with no legs dragging herself through six lanes of traffic.

Anyway, I work with people with learning and physical diffs. so can say what I like.

I will admit that we live in posh part (all saluting guards and doormen ) but it aint all foreigners. As dh says, you can do Good Work and still not live hair shirt life.

Anywaaaay...have no wish to rap you all into a bummer. Back to cakes and pastries!!!
