When we went to the Wild West show in Disneyland Paris we were given Chilli CC and they served corn bread with it, my kids loved it. Does anyone have a recipe for it?

missmama what's shortening?

Cies · 08/07/2008 12:49

Don't worry, I've found out what shortening http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shortening is

Cies · 08/07/2008 12:50

oops, didn't work. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shortening

A friend told me just to use margarine in all the american recipes.

MamaG · 08/07/2008 12:56

missmama do you use 50g marg instead of the shortening then?

missmama · 08/07/2008 13:07

Yes just a straight transfer as though the word is just translated

Missmamma do you put sweetcorn in yours? And what is it usually served with? And would you consider putting it onto the MN recipe section as I think it sounds FAB and would be a great addition?

missmama · 08/07/2008 13:25

I have never cooked it with anything in it, always plain.
We mostly have it still warm with butter/marg melting into it as a side dish with mexican food enchilada tacos chilli etc and what the kids call our american food night, wedges, onion rings, southern fried chicken that sort of thing.
I love it with tomato soup too.

Never thought about the recipe section - I will give it a try.

Sounds DELICIOUS. I am going to try it asap.
