I need a kosher cookbook with English recipes. I luurve Claudia Roden, but she's not quite what I'm looking for right now, and I just don't seem to get on with Evelyn Rose - nothing I make from her book comes out right.

Any suggestions?

rubyrioja-therewas a really really interesting series on ages ago about the jewish community in manchester. it followe dthem through the year-so covered passover, purim, all the festivals. and showed ow judaism affected their lives. it was fascinating. really interesting-would be ideal for your daughter to watch.
will try and remember who sghowed it-think it might have been channel 4 or 5.

My cousins in Israel are alleged by my dad (who visits them every now and then although thinks they are mad) to have special toilet tissue for the Sabbath. It doesn't need tearing or something.

I think for those that are bothered about it, it seems reasonable. From the outside it does seem a little odd but I suppose things that people of all faiths do and accept as normal may seem odd to others.
