Sunday: Tofu Rogan Josh
Monday: Pesto beans on sourdough
Tuesday: peanut noodles
Wednesday: harissa tofu

I had a lovely steak last night with baby roasties and some roasted tomatoes.
I also made a pot of lamb rogan Josh to have tonight with Bombay potatoes (and freeze a couple of servings).
I need to use up some BBQ ribs tomorrow so will have them with oven chips.

I think I will have the fish pie from the freezer on Tuesday.
Pasta ala vongole (clams) on Wednesday
butter chicken and rice on Thursday.
chicken and mushrooms with wine/cream sauce on Friday - either on rice or vol au vents - before I head to the airport.

Not my most exciting week but I am working on making freezer space and I only have 10 months left here so need to use up cupboard items (tins of shellfish, jars of sauce etc…as I have been cooking more fresh than pre-prepared here, opposite to at home).

I have a plan, not next but the following weekend, for lamb and feta burgers one night, lamb koftas the other and to make a couple of shepherds pies to freeze, as I have a very large bag of lamb mince that I could not make into koftas before I needed to freeze it.

@Citygirlrurallife I actually have gyoza in for those sort of meals as a light lunch. Couple of gyoza, some noodles and then some miso soup or some salad. Works well.

This week
Spag bol, possibly converted to Korean wedges for DS
Chicken burrito bowls
Steak ciabattas with a (mayo free) slaw
Cod with new potatoes and veg
Halloumi, chargrilled greens and hot honey pitas

Makelikeatreeandleaf · 01/10/2026 05:26

Our plan:
Salmon piccata with new pots and rocket/artichoke salad
Pasta bake
Aubergine parmigiana
Fried rice
Ramen
Out 2 nights, so will be quick "stuff on toast* type meals.

HalloumiFries · 02/10/2026 09:09

Tomorrow - Out for MiL's birthday (Chinese restaurant)
Sunday: Moussaka
Monday: Leftover moussaka
Tues & Wed: Veggie soup with apple and bramble crumble
Thursday: Butter halloumi curry
Friday: Greek salad pasta
Saturday: Sausage casserole

murasaki · 02/10/2026 12:00

I do love the halloumi curry. Dp was very grateful to you!

SpiceGhoul · 02/10/2026 20:19

Keep forgetting to post mine...

Friday - Tandoori lamb chops, kachumber and an Indian style raita potato salad.
Saturday - Currently making chicken stock in the slow cooker to make spicy chicken ramen. Lots of veg to use up so will be more like a noodle soup than a traditional ramen.
Sunday- Unstuffed cabbage roll soup.
Monday - Huevos rancheros
Tuesday - Mushroom stroganoff with wild rice and greens.
Wednesday - Have some lovely bratwurst, unsure what to do with them yet. Hotdogs? Mash and gravy? Something else?
Thursday - I have some sour dough pizza bases so will raid the fridge and cupboards and use up what we have as toppings.

I had 2 nights of rogan Josh, the ribs and the fish pie. But also a carbonara. And defrosted the chicken and mushrooms for tonight but got held up at work so only had time to grab my bag and water the tomatoes but not cook and eat before heading to airport.

Slice of carrot cake (,”carrot and nuts = 2 of my 5 a day 🤣) in the airport - and DH promises there are eggs, sausages, rashers and fresh bread at home when I land!

The weekend is a mystery.

The plan for next week is :
Mon an M&S dinner that I buy and bring back with me
Tues out for a work thing so pasta pesto if needed when I get in
Wed salmon and steamed brocolli
Thursday pasta bake or lasagna
Friday butter chicken and rice
Saturday food shopping day so probably a roast chicken or nice fish or proper fajitas with HM guacamole

BiddyPopthe2nd · 02/10/2026 20:22

(The weekend is a mystery as I have no idea what DH plans or has ingredients for - we will eat properly)

We didn't get round to the fish last week so we're having that tomorrow and sausage/tomato/spinach pasta tonight.

Need to do a small amazon order so I think it will be something like
Wed - Fajitas
Thurs - roasted veg and hummus flatbreads with goats cheese. Maybe it will be more quesadilla style.

Xiaoxiong · 05/10/2026 12:03

Mon - italian sausage, pepper, tomato, potato traybake
Tues - chicken thighs, couscous, feta cheese, salad
Weds - salmon, salad, one of those merchant gourmet giant couscous pouches
Thurs - dhal, rice, sauteed veg with cumin and mustard seeds
Fri - short ribs braised with red wine in the instant pot, roast potatoes, spring greens

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/10/2026 12:06

I made a veggie chilli with lentils and beans which we had with rice and guacamole on one day and with jacket spuds the next.

Tonight is creamy mushrooms on sourdough toast with a rocket/balsamic salad.

Tomorrow is just me, so veggie gyoza and pak Choi

Then we’re away for a couple of days, including what looks like a rather nice Michelin guide Indian restaurant, which I’m looking forward to trying. Probably pub grub for the other night.

Lastqueenofscotland2 · 08/10/2026 09:14

Feeling a touch uninspired…

Friday: Spanakopita
Saturday: Courgette pasta
Sunday: potato and pea dopiaza
Monday: home made beans on toast
Tuesday: creamy mushroom gnocchi
Wednesday: homemade veg soup & sourdough
Thursday: Orzo risotto

OP posts:
SpaceOP · 08/10/2026 10:10

@Lastqueenofscotland2 I would dispute that spanakopita is EVER uninspred! Grin

I did a version the other day with leeks instead of feta. DELICIOUS.

SpaceOP · 08/10/2026 13:08

I came on to tell everyone that I picked up a 6 pack of Mutti tomatoes on Amazon Fresh for 5.80 but dynamic pricing in action - on my page, it's now back to £7.90. Weird. Worth checking for anyone who might still be able to get the cheaper price?

HalloumiFries · 09/10/2026 12:06

Tomorrow: Sausage casserole
Sunday: Chicken legs, mushrooms, leeks and tarragon with mash
Monday: Gnocchi roasted veg bake
Tues & Wed: Carrot and lentil soup with apple and bramble crumble
Thurs: Aubergine & chickpea stew with tahini
Fri: Falafel flatbreads and Greek salad

Citygirlrurallife · 09/10/2026 16:34

Only need to really do the next few days as then I’m in London and DH is in charge

Saturday: sea bass, green beans, potatoes
Sunday: lentil soup and garlic bread
Monday: Butter bean, spinach and feta orzo
Tuesday: burgers, wedges and something green
Wednesday: build your own baked potato

BiddyPopthe2nd · 10/10/2026 09:36

This week was a disaster food wise…I just grabbed what I found way too late at night. Which involved cheese and crackers on Thursday (but not smoked salmon because that had to be thrown out as it was gone off).

Last night I had a pasta bake with a lot of veggies and bacon in it.
To night I am making lamb and feta burgers (and the meat mix of shepherd’s pie with the rest of the mince - to refreeze)
Tomorrow is lemon and garlic chicken with Mediterranean veggies
Monday chicken fajitas
Tuesday salmon with spinach
Wednesday Lasagna
Thursday pasta vongole
Friday chicken and mushrooms with rice (or vol au vents)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/10/2026 10:25

Another tricky week here, as we're out a couple of nights and dp is working others.

Tomorrow is veggie sausages, roast vege and yorkies

I've also got the wherewithal for -

dp's favourite leek and potato pie - he'd eat this once a week if I let him, but we've not had it since about March, so I reckon he's allowed it!

leek and courgette risotto

channa chaat with onion bhajis and raita

plum crumble to follow something simple like something on toast or a toasted sandwich

courgette pasta

Iamnotaloggrip · 10/10/2026 11:04

About to shop for this week. I’ll do a big chilli for the nights DP’s out late with DD, prawn pasta, cod wrapped in prosciutto, peri-peri chicken and tonight it’s burgers, requested by DD who’s suddenly decided she likes them.

HedwigHedgepig · 10/10/2026 14:06

Had an awful lot going on these last few weeks so meal planning had fallen to the wayside, I'm back on the horse now though!

Today: Ottolenghi's steamed aubergine with cashew rayu and rice
S: tortilla with pepper and veggie chorizo and bread
M: sweet and sour tofu and rice
T: pasta with tomato sauce and veggie meatballs
W: pizza and picky sides
T: vegetarian chicken and mushroom tarragon and rice
F: pepper, bean and veggie chorizo quesadillas
S: freezer surprise

murasaki · 10/10/2026 16:14

Tonight: chicken parmo, potato wedges, salad
S: DP is in charge....
M:Bolognaise pasta bake, salad
T:Out
W: pork belly and bean stew, garlic bread
T: sea bass for me, pie surprise for him, chips, peas

DameProfessorIDareSay · 11/10/2026 10:14

Also fell off the thread but trying to be more organised again. Himself left the freezer open the other week and apart from the ice cream most things seem to be unaffected after I rapidly refroze them but I want to use them up and replace them over the next couple of weeks anyway.

Today - steak sandwiches and sides
Mon - chicken goujons and salad
Tues - meat and potato pie with roast veg
Weds - turkey keema and pilau rice
Thurs - pork stir fry
Fri - burgers and sides
Sat - sea bream with ginger and garlic, stir fried veg
Sun - something with lamb mince

I made this yesterday and it was delicious, very rich and tasty. I'm going to try and adapt it for the Instant Pot as it was a bit fiddly but I had a good podcast to listen to while I made it (and a glass of wine 🙃)
