Best Sandwiches

I tried to load this before so sorry if it appears twice.
I am a sandwich lover and go through phases of loving a particuar one.
At the moment my fave is bbq chicken ( from the supermarket) chopped , sultanas, s and p, with celery, red onions and walnuts ( all diced tiny) , smothered in good egg mayo. On buttered fresh white bread.
I'm getting tired of it after a month so am after new ideas please.
I have heaps more but I've done them for a month each too.

Cheese and pickled onion
Cheese and crisps (cheese and onion or prawn cocktail)
Cheese and chicken with brown sauce

As an ultimate sandwich, sourdough bread lightly toasted, roasted red peppers, emmental cheese rocket and balsamic

Oh or grilled mushrooms and Emmental with sun blush tomato spread. Could have bacon if you wanted too!

One of those supermarket part baked baguettes filled with grilled halloumi and chilli jam on one half, green pesto, avocado and ideally some extra coriander/chilli flakes on the other. Just 🤤

Bread, ajvar, hummus, ham and cheese it the tastiest unexpected combination I tried lately, but actively looking for meal planning app to get rid of that problem 😁

Egg mimosa with a little mayo on wholemeal bread with very thin slices of pickled walnut.

Marks used to do a lovely chicken tikka with mint dressing.

All time favourite cheddar or cheshire on wholemeal bread with thinly sliced tomato and black pepper.

Greek salad feta red onion tomato cucumber olives on a wholemeal roll.

Forgot smoked salmon soft cheese and horseradish sauce. Lovely.

Years ago Boots did these tuna, humous, red peppers, grated carrot and coriander sandwiches. I still miss them.

Also love the Pret mini jambon beurre baguettes with cornichons.

Home made - can’t beat a BLT with jalapeños!

Goats cheese and roasted vegetables.

I miss the O'Briens sandwich shop tootsie. A chicken club with toast in the middle.

Ham and hummous

Cheese, tomato and mayo. Seriously strong cheddar though, the crumbly kind.

Toasted cheese and onion

Prawn cocktail and walkers cheese & onion crisps. Together, in the sandwich.

I had completely forgotten about M&S tikka sandwiches!
They were excellent... pining for them now!

Leftover tarragon chicken in a baguette with cucumber and lettuce

That sounds awesome and I am going to have that for lunch tomorrow

Another offering, this time the speciality of my childhood best friend's mum

California bread
grated cheese, chopped pepper, mix with salad cream and then smear over halved baguette and grill like Welsh rabbit. Yum yum yum

Grated cheese, grated carrot, chopped up gherkins and red or spring onions mixed with mayonnaise and tomato and lettuce on any decent bread.

Pastrami, stilton and pickles in mayonnaise with lots of pepper. It was on the menu of my favourite fancy sandwichshop years ago.

Boxing Day sandwich with turkey, pigs in blankets, stuffing, cauliflower cheese and cranberry sauce - in a bake at home baguette 😋

Boxing day sandwiches are the best. I still think a toastie is the way to go though.

DM used to give us creamcheese & raisin (or it might have been sultanas) or creamcheese & date sandwiches as kids. Also egg & tomato without any mayo or salad cream which was one of my favs. Cheese & jam sandwiches are wonderful - yet to try them toasted but imagine they are superb!

ohhhhh this is gonna be good thread. so many new ideas. I personally love:

rye bread from m&s (it's not proper rye bread, like a more nutty wholemeal).... buttered ofc, then brie and mango chutney + v v thinly sliced cucumber

or,

same bread, spread with mayo, ortiz tuna (or better), jammy boiled egg slices, s&p, vv thinly sliced cucumber

or,
sliced brioche (St pierre) toasted, thinly spread with mayo, richmond vegan sausages or just normal sausage, jammy eggs and vvv thinly sliced cucumber + fried shallots

but the best sandwich I have ever had, but never been able to make successfully...

white toasting bread, shredded poached chicken mixed with mayo, s&p, the white from a jammy boiled egg until all very well mixed - lightly toasted. sounds so weird. but oh so good.

These are mostly very meaty!

There's a good one on BBC good food - mix tahini and honey. Spread on bread, sprinkle feta on top. Close up sandwich, butter outsides and do as a toasted sandwich. It's lush

Good old tuna mayo with Stokes mayo on Jason's sourdough rolls with cucumber.
Or...
Crusty rolls with sliced mozerella, tomato, rocket Prosciutto, chorizo and salami. Bliss!

ham salad…ham and coleslaw, ham and cheese

turkey salad with egg and cheese deli

corned beef and brown sauce

tuna mayo and cucumber

tinned salmon and vinegar with cucumber

turkey stuffing and cranberry (christmas)

sausage sandwich (breakfast)

any hot panini or toastie

ooh forgot the ultimate…meatball sub!!!
