Beef and mushroom thingy sounds lovely. I made fennel and chilli risotto out of Jamie's Italy which was also lovely (I pretend to know about food but really everything I cook is out of Jamie Oliver.)

ah see I'm crap with following recipes so I make it up based on what I can remember from having seen once on a programme and what I think might taste nice - mostly it works....

do drinks count?

I do a mean vodka with Yorkshire rhubarb and ginger syrup...

God, yes, of course drinks count.
Jamie Oliver has some good rhubarb drinks in Jamie At Home (rhubarb bellini, rhubarb vodka cocktail....) I imagine him and his bearded gardener Brian sitting around the vegetable patch making things up getting drunker and drunker....

I'm not a good improviser-from-scratch but I am a good adapter.
