Toasted sandwich maker. Do you have one?

I'm tempted to buy one with the removal plates but not sure.
Have you got one and if you have, do you use it or is it one of those things that ends up in the cupboard?
I've got my eye on the Breville one.
What do you think? Shall I bother?

For those using an air fryer, how long do you leave it in for?

We have a cheap Cookworks one that we've had for about 15 years. Before that we had one with removable plates but they were more faff than they were worth.

We go through phases of using it, usually in winter.

I would say it's one of those gadgets where you don't need to spend a fortune because they all do the same thing.

I've got the breville one with changeable plates, I do tend to use the panini press for toasties rather than the proper toastie plates.
I find that you do need a bit of a squish to make a proper toastie so air fryer ones aren't quite as good.
My current workplace has a toastie machine in the breakroom if it didn't I'd be making more at home!

@RollnRock I do 8 minutes at 180 turning halfway through

I agree about the panini press option. With the toastie maker it really only works for square bread. Can't work out how you get other shaped bread in. Lots of sourdough and more artisan bread (sorry sound wanky) isn't square. So it is good to have the flexibility. The panini press holds it together well.

There is something so satisfying about the crunch of a toastie and the hot melting contents!

We have one in the kitchen at work with removable plates - toastie, panini and waffle. We go though phases with it but it's a much-loved item (and definitely makes life easier when you're running low on cash).

We have a basic one- tend to get it out once every 6 months, comment on how lovely toasties are and we must have them more, then put it away and forget it again.

We had one at boarding school that we used for everything. You can make an excellent egg sandwich in a toastie maker. You can also put sugar in and make a hot sugar and butter sandwich which is a bit gross and probably not for anyone not at boarding school but was great at the time 😂

Mine has removable plates so you can do waffles or use it like a George Foreman.

I use it to fry eggs more often than toasties.
