Think James is very gifted and quite humble with it. Hope he wins. Can't stand the Irish fella. He goes for the sympathy "I'm a single father" vote on almost every VT take.

yep - altho' Emily's egg ravioli was stupendous IMHO

So what's our thinking after yesterday? I suspect that Emily's lack of experience may be her downfall, but this will still kickstart a fantastic career for her. I think James is quite a nice team-mate - Emily probably more brilliant, but right now at this stage in their lives/careers James probably has the edge.

Had this discussion last night.

I want James to win because I think he can and I think he'll get the most out of it.

I am probably being unreasonable here but my worry with the Irish guy is that his ability to parent his children maybe compromised as he is 'single Dad' man and cheffing is a full on job with unsociable hours so more difficult - but also, I think he is a bit lacking in imagination although very efficient. Would be an excellent head chef at a decent pub.

Emily I think will be spotted from this anyway and go onto great things so doesn't need to win - but she's incredible and undoubtedly the most naturally talented.

(and secretly really fancy James as well )

I went off him when he tried to cook chips in butter - ponce...........

and when he was mean to Emily last night - can't believe how mature she is, does anyone know what her background is? I'd be sooo proud if I were one of her parents. She has no arrogance or cockiness in her, which I find so unusual for a teenager of that ability.

Wisteria - i thought Jonny's butter chips were awful! if you want really nice chips you cook them in goose fat!
