Sick of getting cooking mess on my clothes but would feel a complete idiot putting a pinny on.

Do you?

hell, yes

Iota · 09/02/2008 19:07

I can't bear fat splashes ruining my clothes

my dh wears one as well

Sunshinemummy · 09/02/2008 19:07

Yes. I like my pinny.

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 09/02/2008 19:08

I only wear one at the weekend when I am doing my baking for the week.

Carmenere · 09/02/2008 19:08

Yes, I wear old chefs ones I have from a previous existence

Iota · 09/02/2008 19:09

I have this one because I am a sad cat lover

PrincessSnowLife · 09/02/2008 19:10

yes, we now have a unisex one (plain white) in our kitchen for either DH or myself, because we got sick of destroying our clothes during cooking

MaeWest · 09/02/2008 19:10

As of today DH, DS and I all have matching aprons (dark blue with a white stripe)

PeachesMcLean · 09/02/2008 19:11

Is plain white not asking for trouble? tomato stains for instance...

I WANT A COOL APRON
find me one!!!!!

Iota · 09/02/2008 19:11

I wear an apron when doing the washing up as well.

Perhaps I am a messy person

stickyj · 09/02/2008 19:11

I have my mum's old ones, those flowery half tie round your waist ones 'cos she's not here now and I miss her and I used to untie them when I was little and laugh

PeachesMcLean · 09/02/2008 19:12

SO DO I!!!!!

OP posts:
MaeWest · 09/02/2008 19:12

Yep, wear one for washing up, and cleaning...

Iota · 09/02/2008 19:12

traditional black/white apron

PurplePillow · 09/02/2008 19:13

I am a very messy persona dn often find myself going out and finding that I have stains on the sides of my legs where I have wiped my hands

PrincessSnowLife · 09/02/2008 19:13

better to have tomato stain on white aprons than on clothes, peachey... then the aprons get chucked in to the next wash and our clothes are fine

Belgianchocolates · 09/02/2008 19:16

I wear an apron when I remember that I actually have one. I bought a good one at Ikea after seeing it and remembering that I was fed up with having all sorts of foodstuffs stuck to my clothes. The only thing is that I keep forgetting that I actually own an apron

PeachesMcLean · 09/02/2008 19:16

PurplePillow

Stickyj, that's a lovely memory.

PestoMonster · 09/02/2008 19:16

Yes, I wear a Wine Society one.

MrsBadger · 09/02/2008 19:41

white one from home ec at school
dh has a manly navy striped one
and I have a ghastly pvc flowered one for washing up esle I always (somehow) get soaked

SorenLorensen · 09/02/2008 19:46

Yes, I do - mine is a navy blue one which says "Domestic Goddess" in gold writing. Well, it's faded with repeated washings so now it just says "Do...G" which is probably nearer the truth...

Bluestocking · 09/02/2008 19:48

Absolutely, always put on an apron to cook or wash up. I have a tradtional dark blue one with white stripes. My sister has a very nice demin one from Muji.
StickyJ, that is very sweet!

Othersideofthechannel · 09/02/2008 19:49

Depends what I am wearing and what I am cooking.

Does it matter if a white apron is stained? The point of an apron is to protect your usual clothes.

SorenLorensen · 09/02/2008 19:50

Rosie Nieper - this is where I got my apron, PurplePillow
