Savoury recipe to feed 8+

Assuming I don't give birth this afternoon (fat chance) I have just opened my diary and realised that this evening is the annual dinner for the sailing club parents thing.....

Tis posh and I am apparently expected to bring along a plate of something to serve roughly 8.

I need something impressive (ohhh yes, am not going to have the chic maman fraternity delicately nibbling my offering and exchanging raised eyebrow glances) and easy. Has to be savoury and not another quiche or couscous salad.

Plerase help me keep up with the Duponts. What should I take. Recipes/ideas please!

CountessDracula · 27/11/2007 14:49

Marinaded lamb and somethingorother skewers

CountessDracula · 27/11/2007 14:50

HuwEdwards · 27/11/2007 14:52

Italian ham spread with pesto and wrapped aroung chicken breasts. Sprinkle with black pepper and drizzle with olive oil.

Bung in oven till ham slightly crispy.

ggglimpopo · 27/11/2007 14:53

Sighs patiently (hormones throbbing). Needs to be main. Cant be arsed with threading dead sheep on sticks.

I am going to end up going to the traiteur and spending fkng fortune and passing it orf as mine, arent it?

Or the chicken curry. There is always that chicken curry recipe but then that leaves rice issue..... I am not cooking rice (have internet shop coming tomorrow, have no rice left)

CountessDracula · 27/11/2007 14:54

How about curry on naan bread rather than rice if you can buy it

ggglimpopo · 27/11/2007 14:54

Placenta au vin would go down well, specially if it was a Pomerol. French like their offal.

Buerk buerk.

Yum to pomerol though.

...nan bread..??

ggglimpopo · 27/11/2007 14:57

No fucking naan or poppadoms locally. No indian restuarants within easy driving distance.

Lots of wine, garlic, foie gras.

OP posts:
mishymoo · 27/11/2007 14:58

oh sod it..... just pretend to go into labour!

CountessDracula · 27/11/2007 14:58

AND BRIQUE???

ggglimpopo · 27/11/2007 14:59

Yes, there is brique.

What to do with brique.

That is the question.
