mussels floating in lime juice - you have to stab them hard from above or you end up chasing them around with your fork for ages

Babyramone · 01/11/2007 18:04

when pregnant I scoffed wotsits on white plastic bread.
yum

CovenOVeneer · 01/11/2007 18:05

I love eating a whole tin of anchovies on its own.

callmeovercautious · 01/11/2007 18:18

Fish fingers in white bread with plastic cheese slice and ketchup - yum!

Also a fan of supernoodle sandwiches - chicken flavour!

Another one I used to do at College was a Crispy pancake (findus I think) had to be minced beef - in a slice of cheapy white bread - yum, just the thing before 6 pints of Cider

Yummers · 01/11/2007 18:24

just remembered some more: a milky way eaten with a blackcurrant lollipop

slices of bacon cooked in pastry in the oven (my dad's invention, although he claims my uncle invented it, we call them 'bacon flatties'

refreshers sweets in lemonade - this is one from my childhood - they're supposed to fizz up but i don't think they do.

Pinions · 01/11/2007 19:04

Sweetcorn straight from the tin. Whole jars/tubs of olives for no apparent reason. Salad cream with ANYTHING in particular curry and sweet and sour. Sure theres a few more lurkin in there somewhere .

moondog · 01/11/2007 19:09

Horrified at thought of Frosties with hot chocolate. How deep down and dirty can a girl get?

The digestive with Philly and lemon curd in pure bloody genius though.

ChiefFairyCakeMaker · 01/11/2007 19:16

Any flavour yoghurt eaten with a shortbread finger (no spoon) - have to try the kit kat version though!

A favourite pud from student days was Heinz tinned chocolate sponge pudding with Butterscotch Angel Delight

And as a child I used to like sliced apple sandwiches with sugar sprinkled on top, or my mum used to give me a cup of sugar and a stick of rhubarb - getting the combination of sweet and sour just right kept me entertained for ages. In fact I think I'll have to try it on the LOs I wonder if you can you get rhubarb in November? (goes off to order some on-line...)

Pinions · 01/11/2007 19:24

And could someone please tell me the official definition of a foodie please, or maybe just as you perceive it .

MrsBadger · 01/11/2007 19:32

so many good ideas!

I recall with joy appalling NQC by making a large Yorkshire pudding and eating half with gravy, then the other half with golen syrup for pudding.

NineUnlikelyTales · 01/11/2007 19:41

I honestly thought no one else would say mashed potato sandwiches. RoyKinnear we are kindred spirits (as long as yours are white bread, buttered, and also contain HP sauce).

Lilacclaire supernoodle sandwiches sound fantastic! I was going to say supernoodles but I'd never thought of doind sandwiches.

I also love leftover Indian takeaway sandwiches with lashings of tomato ketchup. I'll eat pretty much anything in a sandwich.

Pinions · 01/11/2007 19:41

YES. My ultimate foodie crime.

Chips. Fried rice. Curry sauce. SALAD CREAM.

Am liking the idea of hummus/mustard/marmite too, think that one could very well grow on me, equally weird. Would have to be on toast however.

twojags · 01/11/2007 19:44

Vesta Chicken supreme but I don't think they make it anymore
Fray Bentos Pies but only the chicken ones.

As I student I curried virtually anything including tinned peas and hotdog sausages once

bagpuss · 01/11/2007 19:52

ready salted crisps and chocolate together, mmmmm

Fish finger sandwiches with warburton's bread, lurpak butter and heinz tomato sauce.

PhoenixCymru · 01/11/2007 21:42

white bread and butter dipped in a mug of sweet tea

FireworksInMyLuckyUnderpants · 01/11/2007 21:53

super noodles, monster munch (roast beef) and philidelpha cheese on toast with marmite mmmmmm

vole3 · 02/11/2007 02:06

Student days - 'Breville' toasted sandwich with beans n sausages filling, minestrone cupasoup stirred with a Cadburys fudge so that the chocolate just starts to melt.

jackamolsmum · 02/11/2007 08:35

breville toasted sandwich with sweetcorn and cheese mmmm. and marmite on white toast...tis like food porn!!!

potatofactory · 02/11/2007 08:44

Some of your culinary suggestions are pretty gross - although I will be trying the lazybones cheesecake, and maybe a supernoodle sandwich for the MAIN course. Does eating jelly tots together with Terry's chocolate ornage count? And I regularly eat peanut butter 'n' jelly sandwiches (raspberry jam) which are good... sure there's more. What about eating 'ice magic', without the ice cream? Do they make that any more?

smilesattheweekend · 02/11/2007 09:19

Pot Noodle sandwiches - chicken and mushroom is the best!!

coby · 02/11/2007 10:27

urrghhh...doesn't the bread go all soggy???

JulesJules · 02/11/2007 11:42

Savoury lazy cheesecake - digestives spread with Philly and topped with Marmite...
Almost anything in plastic white bread, especially crisps (cheese and onion crisp sandwiches go well with a bit of added ketchup)and ummm egg fried rice sandwiches with soy sauce. But the absolute best one beloved by my sister and I, and until now a bit of a family secret - pea sandwiches. Any bread will do, but white bread is obviously best - put hot just boiled peas in bowl, add mayo and salt and pepper, scoop into buttered bread. Squeeze. Eat and go straight to food heaven. Oh God, I want one now.

Babyramone · 02/11/2007 16:50

My mum used to give us butter and sugar sandwiches No wonder I've got fillings and sweet tooth.

ChubbyScotsBurd · 02/11/2007 17:01

Have we had Angel Delight yet? Mmmm, chocolate or butterscotch, so hard to decide!

And another vote for Kraft plastic cheese. Vile but soooooooo good.

ElenyaTuesday · 02/11/2007 17:39

Cornish Pasty sandwich with brown sauce - all mashed up.
