oh and it has to be anchor salted, none of that lurpak lighter unsalted stuff.

it's the salt that sets off the gooey sweetness

hold on...Almond butter?
Shrooms, please elaborate! Do you make it, or buy it?

I slice it lengthways...but then I am a bit of a glutton

sfxmum · 11/10/2007 20:55

maybe it is heresy but I am quite partial to the cinnamon one, having wolfed one down last monday
and indeed butter is the thing to go with it

yum yum

zoo, do you slice it lengthways by any chance?

ivykaty44 · 11/10/2007 21:29

688 calories in a whole malt loaf - thats three mars bars

MrsWeasley · 11/10/2007 22:21

oh much rather have a whole malt loaf than 3 mars bars and less rubbish from 1 wrapper so helping the environment

colditz · 11/10/2007 22:25

I had a form tutor once who was captain of the local Rugby team, and he used to eat them like a mars bar - just unwrapped and bitten straight into!

He could get away with it, he was a MASSIVE bloke.

EmsMum · 11/10/2007 22:26

688 plus butter...

Just don't do it every night. You will not be able to get out of the door to buy more.

hunkermunker · 11/10/2007 22:29

PMSL, Colditz, I used to do that when I was a student, living in a freezing flat in the arse end of London. Was my only pleasure. Well, that and smoking in bed Was too cold to get out. Although had I fallen asleep, I guess it would've got Very Hot Indeed all of a sudden...!

hunkermunker · 11/10/2007 22:30

Ahem, can I just say that it was my only pleasure whilst revising for exams?

Don't want you all thinking my only pleasure whilst a student was a sodding malt loaf.

God, I used to smoke in bed too - hideous behavior. Very Wanton.

hunkermunker · 11/10/2007 22:40

I may have taken a Camberwell carrot to bed with me in the past. Or I may not. Who can say?

No Deep Heat was harmed in the making of my student past though...!

charlieandlola · 11/10/2007 22:44

DO NOT eat more than one Soreen Go bar in one go - you will not be able to leave the house for days

colditz · 11/10/2007 22:44

Does spraying Deep Heat on your feet really work to warm them up?

susiecutie · 11/10/2007 22:54

hmmmmm, just sitting here contemplating if I should have a little slice before bed.. ot help me sleep of course BUT, am trying ot be on a diet so must not... i wish my lovely loving mum had not brought one round for me, to cheer me up!!!

I had a look at the go bar there and had a little look on the recipe page. MOST of which looked vile imo... but this one looked really yummy...

banana apple malted cheese cake

Dunno, Colditz - never did it. Toasted malt loaf is divine, btw.
