What's the most reprehensible thing you've ever put on a sandwich - indefensible guilt pleasures please....

Curried potato salad on a little baguette style bread roll.

My uncle is guilty of steak pie sandwiches. (Bleugh to that one personally, but each to his own....)

Could quite go for a roast dinner sandwich now, JV

3sEnough · 01/09/2007 19:04

Jam, ham and stilton - utterly delicious.

LoveMyGirls · 01/09/2007 19:06

saz360 · 01/09/2007 19:11

WideWebWitch · 01/09/2007 19:17

Fray bentos pie? Yuk!
I like french mustard sandwiches
brown sauce sandwiches

jaynehater · 01/09/2007 20:24

Sorry, but the concept of peach sandwiches is tickling my hair trigger stomach...tinned or fresh? (like it makes a difference )

leftover curry from the night before makes a great buttie

gemmiegoatlegs · 01/09/2007 20:29

white bread, cheese triangles bacon crisps and brown sauce.

a guilty sandwich on many levels

Bewilderbeast · 01/09/2007 20:38

chicken nuggets, butter, mayo and ketcup (this is as an adult btw)

VeniVidiVickiQV · 01/09/2007 21:37

oooh lettuce and vinegar is right up my street

Not sandwich related, but, I have a tendency of drinking the ginger vinegar dip that you get with grilled dumplings in a Chinese restaurant

MarshaBrady · 01/09/2007 21:46

Ok it is a boarding school habit but

peanut butter / banana and chocolate cooking buttons

if I had the ingredients I would.

And in the spirit of vvv I have been known to drink the soy sauce in a Japanese restaurant

Flibbertyjibbet · 01/09/2007 21:48

I love just beetroot, butter, and brown bread.
Is that reprehensible or just strange?

Moomin · 01/09/2007 21:49

When I was 11 I went on a summer activity week where you had to take a packed lunch every day. My dad said I could make my own packed lunches so I filled my sandwiches with Monster Munch!

newlifenewname · 01/09/2007 21:52

Agree with JV re. bolognaise sandwiches - particularly tinned spag bol sandwiches as I recall from my yoof.

Cream cheese and salad cream is nice too but not that odd or reprehensible.

Crisp sandwiches, ketchup sandwiches. I made dd sardine and ketchup sandwiches for lunch the other day.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 01/09/2007 21:52

ooh no flibberty - beetroot and cheese sandwiches are delicious

Flibbertyjibbet · 01/09/2007 22:02

Oh yes version two is made with my usual ingredients plus lovely wensleydale or crumbly lancashire cheeeeeeeeese.

pooka · 01/09/2007 22:05

Golden syrup. Yum yum.

primigravida · 01/09/2007 22:07

Lashings of wholegrain mustard and gherkins on toast (pregnancy craving) and squares of dark chocolate on baguette (my French host sister taught me that one).

VeniVidiVickiQV · 01/09/2007 22:10

oh pooka yes! On crusty french bread slices, yum!

pollywollydoodle · 01/09/2007 22:16

leftover curry in split leftover naan (they need using up, honest!)

cheese and onion crisps with salad cream on thick white bread (drools in a homer-like fashion..)

DDs is a baked bean sandwich dipped in brown sauce....

Piffle · 01/09/2007 22:17

fairy bread in NZ as a kid was always at parties
100's and 1000's on buttered crust trimmed white bread...

Bouquetsofdynomite · 02/09/2007 15:37

My sister and her kids eat raw garlic and butter in crusty bread!
I like slices of pork pie and apple sauce in a cheese toastie. Dangerously hot inside though, much mouthwatering anticipation waiting for it to cool.
In Holland they have chocolate flakes sandwiches.

chocolatekimmy · 02/09/2007 21:22

As a child I would put 'nice' biscuits in my marmite sandwich - enjoyed the crunch and sweet/sour taste. Couldn't do it now though!

In more recent years, salad cream or pickle sauce (no lumps)

My mum says she used to have sugar or apple as a kid

kindersurprise · 02/09/2007 22:11

DS (3) loves leberwurst and strawberry jam sandwiches. bleugh!

garciasangria · 02/09/2007 22:35

yes yes yes to salad cream sarnies, red / brown sauce, oh, and jam and cheese together, and loved sugar sandwiches as a kid, and also sugar on toast yum!!

Anyone else ever have stew sandwiches, (as in Irish stew with the potatoes and all in it) mmmmm

DH used to make super noodle sandwiches.

My all time fav though was warm tinned sausages with salad cream on white bread, or the deluxe version of toast with tinned sausages, grated cheese, salad cream and sliced picked onions. Haven't had it in years, though could go one now
