I know this thread was done a while ago, but I thought I'd resurrect it. As we've got into the same cycle of meals rut again, and I need inspiration! So, what are you having??!

OP posts:

Home made chicken curry. It was delicious. I am SO lucky to have a dh that cooks - am crap at cooking!

WideWebWitch · 21/09/2004 19:13

ds had tomato soup, a satsuma, a yoghurt, some pistachios and some apple juice, we're having tuna steak marinated in honey and garlic with salad.

batey · 21/09/2004 19:35

Wow, thanks for those. Have to say feeling slightly inadequete, my dds wouldn't eat half of these! And I didn't think we were doing too bad!! Oh well.

lol fio2
At their own request, I made sausage kebabs for the gruesome twosome tonight and they ate not a bloody bite. Grr.
We're having stew. And wine.

clairabelle · 21/09/2004 19:42

They had roast chicken gravy broccoli, cauliflour & baked potato. I've had two packets of chocolate buttons.

OldieMum · 21/09/2004 20:03

Re: earlier post - I put the lasagne in the wrong oven, so it was 30 mins late and dd (who is teething) refused to eat it. So much for home cooking ....

nutcracker · 21/09/2004 20:10

Spag bol (again)

marthamoo · 21/09/2004 20:21

Ainsley's shepherd's pie with scalloped potato topping - YUM - with carrots, broccoli and cabbage. And home made banana and ginger cake with custard for pudding. Blimey! I sound like SuperMum (we had frozen pizza last night...)

vict17 · 21/09/2004 20:21

we had leftover cold roast chicken, beans and mashed potato. 5 and 1/2 month Ds had stewed fruit and milk at nursery
Fio2 - pot noddles are my fav junk food

marthamoo · 21/09/2004 20:22

And I'm on a diet too - that lot was 9.5 WW points and I've got a couple of points left for a big glass of Martini Rosso while I'm watching that new Western thing on Sky One later...I'm a happy bunnny

Paula71 · 21/09/2004 20:45

Chicken arrabiata, ds twins (30m) will eat anything pasta. In fact any Italian food they eat up without fuss and bonus is I sneak veg into the tomato sauce. Naughty mummy!

Hulababy · 21/09/2004 20:57

Late dinner tonight as got in from work late, and rather than coming home and sorting food DH decided to go for a drink with his friend - hmmm!!!!

So:
DH had thai red curry and sticky rice (pre-pack)
I had oven chips and eggs
DD had eaten at PILs but then had some yogurt and banana whilst we ate.

Will cook proper tomorrow!

SofiaAmes · 21/09/2004 21:33

Black cod marinated in miso sauce, rice, soybeans, seaweed, bamboo and a big bowl of fish eggs for ds. (ok we cheated a little, we live in a very japanese area and there is a local store that prepares the marinade and I just have to cook it). Veggies were also preprepared.

serenequeen · 21/09/2004 21:38

ds - our leftover risotto from last night with added peas. dh and i - when he gets back, roasted salmon with veg.

Thomcat · 21/09/2004 21:45

Lottie had pasta with a sauce that consisted of fresh tomato, cream cheese, onio and sweetcorn, a fromage frais, some fruit and some organic honey popcorn.

We had chicken breasts, roasted after sitting in some fresh lemon juice, roast potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and peas, washed down with a bottle of white wine.

Cupboards looking v bare, no idea what to do tomorrow. Will read through your posts and hopefully find inspiration.

blossomhill · 21/09/2004 22:08

Yum! Thomcat that sounds delicious!

emkana · 21/09/2004 22:16

We had this the other night, and the whole family LOVED it

Made it today, from a recipe I came across in a magazine in Germany, and it was lovely - the whole family ate the lot, and demanded seconds!
It's a bit different, but very nice nonetheless.

Potato bake with camembert

You need
One and a half pounds potatoes
two or three carrots
2 apples
250 g Camembert
200 ml milk
2 eggs
Paprika
Pepper

Boil, then peel and slice the potatoes. Peel, slice, then boil the carrots. Peel, then slice, but don't boil the apples. Slice the camembert. Put everything into ovenproof dish. Mix milk with eggs and spices, pour over the potatoes etc. Put into oven for 45 mins at 180 - 200. Enjoy!

Thomcat · 21/09/2004 22:17

BH - hello love! What did you have? What shall I have tomorrow? Just too busy at work to get out to go shopping and really not up for a tekeaway. It's all so boring thinking of things to cook sometimes. I was lucky tonight that I had fresh veg and potatoes in the house.

D just said he'd think of something for tomorrow, ohhhh, the relief of it!

JuniperDewdrop · 22/09/2004 12:19

Mmmmmmm emkana that sounds yummy!! I might make that tonight for DS1 and me. DH doesn't like cheesy things and DS2 is very hard to cook for. I'll give him some to try though

codswallop · 22/09/2004 12:20

psml att his thread but am delighted that hula had our old storecupboard fave of egga nd chips!

codswallop · 22/09/2004 12:22

enid · 22/09/2004 12:56

Well my two won't eat burgers, chicken nuggets or pizza so what the hell do I give them for tea at 5 when I have been at work all day and haven't got anything left in the freezer???? Answer me that will you! If they get sausages and veg once more they will leave home.

serenequeen · 22/09/2004 12:57

scrambled eggs?

scotlou · 22/09/2004 13:03

Last night was easy - broccoli pasta for me and kids as dh away. (ds had 2 large portions!!) Tonight - not a clue - any ideas for chicken breast (think they're still in date!),red peppers, new potatoes / rice or pasta? Think I've also got onions, cabbage and carrots in teh fridge. Please don't suggest chicken stir fry or chicken paprika ( a bit like chicken acapulco) as we have them every week!
