SlightlyMadStroppyCakeMaker · 25/06/2007 18:41

Evening ladies. The judging has now all been finalised, and decisions have been made. Results are typed up and ready to be transmitted. I have told bakers to be present at 8. Does it seem fair to wait until 8, or should i start now?

Peachy · 25/06/2007 19:17

8 is kids yto bed time here, and dh to work time

Frizbe · 25/06/2007 19:18

ladie ladies, a very high standard of baking seen here in this marquee today. I have had a very difficult and worrying task to identify winners. Please be patient as I go through each award. a polite applause would be welcome for each winner, as is the custom. pause.

tigi · 25/06/2007 19:25

please be patient as i copy and paste........

purplemonkeydishwasher · 25/06/2007 19:25

(so seriously i am!)

Childrens Winner ? Slubereenies

The Judging panel were particularly impressed with the array of baking materials used, and at hand within the kitchen. Also, the cleanliness and lack of mess within the confines of the kitchen noted. The obvious use of ?Ariel for all your whites? impressive too. The carefully haphazard use of sweeties drew the eye of the younger judges who felt this was a ?real? cake rather than the use of fruit.
It should be noted that fruit featured highly this year, and our fruity contestants should be given a round of applause for aiming to reduce calories consumed.

Highly recommended (in no particular order)
Franny&Zooey / BuilderBetty /MumupNorth (cupcakeasaurus)

Frizbe · 25/06/2007 19:26

Frizbe · 25/06/2007 19:26

purplemonkeydishwasher · 25/06/2007 19:26

UCM · 25/06/2007 19:27

Big clap for the little slubs

tigi · 25/06/2007 19:27

Best Decoration Winner ? MommyUpNorth

These delightful cakes caught the eye of the Judging panel as soon as they set foot in marquee. The attention to detail was very impressive, and the miniscule proportions incredible. The artwork is reminiscent of the great Picasso. It is obvious to the judging panel that the artist must have spent a great many hours studying the view on Blackpool beach to produce this masterpiece.
On the other cakes the sweeties were well arranged to gain attention of the Judging party. The Cupcake-a-saurus also comes very highly recommended within the children section.

Mrs Fish came a close runner up, as did Chippyminton. Both were let down by the fact that the sweeties were not home made. Attention to these small things is most important to the eyes of the judging panel.

UCM · 25/06/2007 19:28

Whey Hey MUN, well done hon
