Bananas, avocadoes, cake, anything made with pastry, apple juice contains more calories than orage juice.

Are they allowed to take chocolate to school? I've recently discovered chocolate covered rice cakes

erm, this is really hard.

Your dd sounds just like my eldest - will eat fruit and vege all day every day but seems to think that protein is the work of the devil.. I try to fill her up with carbs in the form of pitta, brown rolls etc etc and provide the protein in the form of quorn slices, a pot of hoummus, or even (oh the shame!!!) a veggie sausage roll. She will also eat chicken tikka pieces in a wrap.

She's 12 now and I have to admit, I try not to panic anymore!

Enid · 20/03/2007 14:34

Have you tried Tartex? It's a vegetarian pate that comes in a tube, lots of varieties and tastes really nice. Try health food shops.
How about little veg pasties? Make lots and freeze them (this coming from Miss Disorganised who never gets around to freezing anything sensible)

MrsBadger · 20/03/2007 14:39

Have you tried soup or egg fried rice with chicken & veg?

Blu · 20/03/2007 14:43

Felafel? they are nice cold.
Crispy samosas - homemade with ready-made filo, so you can make the non-spicy if needs be?
Cheese straws?

no tell ehr hse has to have ONE oice of meat or cheese
one bit of bread and let her face your problem

Enid · 21/03/2007 10:14

lol

ok she had:

a ham and crisp sandwich - the crisps did not go soggy yesterday and it was LUSH
a box of chopped up celery, carrot, cucumber and cherry toms
a babybel
a pack of those fruit bits covered in yogurt (sweets basically)

this is the best lunch ever apparently.

She has also requested those chicken satay sticks from the deli counter, with pitta bread tomorrow. Hopefully if she likes that I can replace the satay sticks (processed crap) with real chicken bits.
