I have just had cauliflower cheese .

suzycreamcheese · 16/03/2007 20:23

takeaways are huge disappointment i agree and i always wonder if they washed their hands...

risotto with leeks, basil, roasted tomatoes, trout fillet...quick cooks itself and delish!

i dont really do pud either...always nicer in imagination than reality methinks..

SenoraPostrophe · 16/03/2007 20:23

omlette and chips. dh doesn't think it's a proper meal.

if I was in the uk though I'd get fish and chips. mmmmfish and chips

"takeaways are huge disappointment i agree and i always wonder if they washed their hands..."

enough to put anyone off, suzy!

WideWebWitch · 16/03/2007 20:41

lol Capp re swaying in front of fridge thing!

I have been alone (well, with dd) today and have eaten: dolcelatte on bread with cranberry sauce, chorizo picante, marinated anchovies, crayfish, prawns, grapes, apple, lamb samosa, hot red peppers stuffed with boursin type cheese, avocado. And I'm about to eat white bread toast with butter. Gagging for a glass of wine but am on antibiotics so I can't. I love boiled egg and dippies too but the egg has to be a 3.5 minute one with hard white and runny yolk, the bread has to be white with thick butter on cold from the fridge and dipped in an egg with Maldon salt on it

SenoraPostrophe · 16/03/2007 20:43

mmm, proper biled egg. or "bashing egg" as ds1 calls it.

But I find it impossible here: Spanish eggs have a really thin shell and really thin white for some reason, so if the shell doesn't crack (which is about 60% of the time) the yolk is over to one side and so gets half cooked.

pointydog · 16/03/2007 20:48

uch uch biled egg uch

suzycreamcheese · 16/03/2007 21:09

pointydog...

Tinker · 16/03/2007 21:10

A Heinz chocolate pudding and some Ambrosia (or any really) custard

pointydog · 16/03/2007 21:10

you're joking?

maybe printing error for Pizza Toney

suzycreamcheese · 16/03/2007 21:59

pointy..no joke.., well it is one is our house now..darn thing was on fridge for ages and now i cant find it....

PeachesMcLean · 16/03/2007 22:07

Depends on how much time I've got. Realistically it would be a Sainsbury chuck in the oven curry. If it's me and my mum, home made fish pie. If it's really just me, with time to spend in the kitchen..... I dunno, I can't imagine that happening!

MerlinsBeard · 16/03/2007 22:08

nothing, tend not to cook if i don't have to

wpcanniecartwright · 16/03/2007 22:13

pasta, garlic mushrooms
or maybe fried eggs on toast

FrannyandZooey · 16/03/2007 22:14

A whole ball of mozzarella and an avocado, then a bunch of asparagus, with some crusty bread and butter

MamaG · 16/03/2007 22:18

of FandZ thats blissful - I'd LOVE that

I did actually make a meal for myself last night and tonight

Last night - porridge
Tonight - tuna sandwich

wow

franca70 · 16/03/2007 22:18

bacon and eggs, with buttered bread
or spaghetti with anchovies, garlic, capers and parsley.
or mixed salad with spring onion and a soft boiled egg.

expatinscotland · 16/03/2007 22:19

Nothing.

I'd go to Britannia Spice alone and have a chicken madras and some cool white wine.

nikkie · 16/03/2007 22:25

tend not to cook when its just me (so most nights then ) or its pizza or pasta (usually arrabiatta sauce)

FrannyandZooey · 16/03/2007 22:27

Yes MamaG I think I may have to send ds and dp away tomorrow

god knows I would just end up eating soup out of the freezer, though

Mercy · 16/03/2007 22:36

chicken jalfrezi (M&S)
chicken madras
mushroom curry
dhal
jerk chicken
steak with cream/mushroom/wine sauce

all with rice and salad - ie, meaty and spicy

don't like desserts
