mine prefer sweetened cereal (coco pops, honey nit crunch) or white toast with Nutella, and a cup of tea with sugar in it.

I vary this by adding fruit or a fried/cooked egg every now and then.

When we run out of nutella it is jam or cheese.

half the time the bread is brown instead of white, or sourdough, just for variety's sake.

breakfast at our house is not inspired!

WorldsBiggestGrotbag · 25/05/2015 20:36

DD is 18 months and usually has something like toast, Greek yoghurt and a banana. Scrambled egg at weekends when we have a bit more time.

BabyGanoush · 25/05/2015 20:36

mind you , they are 10 and 12 and I have become blasé about breakfast, after years of foisting blueberries /healthy stuff on them as tots!

I reckon they can handle a bit of sugar now.

Sarahplane · 25/05/2015 20:36

Weekdays toast/cereal/ready brek with raisins or ready made pancakes (the thick ones) with banana. At the weekends scrambled egg or French toast. Sometimes bagles or pain au chocolate for a treat.

MilkRunningOutAgain · 25/05/2015 20:37

My DS is currently demanding sugary cereals and refusing to eat the weetabix/ rice pops / corn flakes / porridge / yogurt I've provided for the first 12 years of his life. He currently eats nothing as we are now at war over this. I do bacon sandwiches or pancakes / croissants sometimes at weekends and he eats those. He did eat up a batch of scones I made the other week for breakfast. My DD eats the above or sometimes leftovers, even chicken curry!

xalyssx · 25/05/2015 20:37

Normally malted oats, sometimes on their own, sometimes with jam/dried fruit. Always with full fat milk.

BeCool · 25/05/2015 20:37

Cereal and fruit. I go for low-ish sugar whole grain cereal options.
Porridge sometimes but they get sick of that.
Whole grain toast.
Crumpets one a week.
Beans on toast, pancakes, French toast, poached egg sometimes at weekends

Always a piece of fruit and dd2 will have an apple every morning on way to nursery.

Drink of milk.
fresh orange juice at weekends for variety.

Fruit will be apples, pears, banana, satsumas, pineapple, mango, berries depending on season.

Dd1 has started to get into fruit/vegetable smoothies with me but dd2 won't even taste them.

RagingJellyBean · 25/05/2015 20:39

DD is 1.2yrs, she's not a big breakfast eater so we share a bowl of cereal (weetabix or shreddies) and she has a fruit & grain bar from ASDA ??

jorahmormont · 25/05/2015 20:40

DD (13 months) has cheerios or weetabix.

twirlypoo · 25/05/2015 20:41

We have breakfast in bed every day before I have to leave for work Blush

Therefore it's grabable stuff I can prepare the night before:

Chopped cucumber / carrot / strawberries / banana.

Boiled eggs

Croissants

Those banana porridge cake things.

CreamSubstitute · 25/05/2015 20:41

Cereal or porridge. Cereal options in our house include puffed oats, weetabix, shredded wheat or shreddies. With fruit chopped in most days.

Sometimes toast with a boiled egg.

TheoreticalOrder · 25/05/2015 20:42

DS has either Cinnamon Grahams, Dorset muesli or granola, toast with marmalade, or sometimes bagels if we have them. Weekends we often have pancakes, or occasionally a bacon sandwich.

DD has either porridge, Weetabix, a plain crumpet with butter, or baguette with butter, v occasionally a yoghurt. Weekends she has eggs, or baked beans or pancakes.

Apart from pancakes, which of course is the most time consuming for me, all the things they like for breakfast are different. Hmm

namechangefortoday543 · 25/05/2015 20:42

My youngest is 16 so he gets his own breakfast .
We don't eat cereal here - its sugary crap.
scrambled egg, omelette, bacon and avocado on toast.
Peanut butter on granary.
Toasted sandwiches, salmon and cream cheese on granary.

twirlypoo · 25/05/2015 20:42

Oh yeah! Sausages cold from the day before too.

Ds is 3 by the way, I'm not making a teenager have breaky in bed with me Grin

QuinoaLenghi · 25/05/2015 20:43

Most morning they have a banana pancakes (two mashed bananas whisked with four eggs and fried) and a handful of nuts and seeds mixed in plain yoghurt and grated apple.

ChristmasLightLover · 25/05/2015 20:49

I'll sully this thread with my contribution :))

Weekdays - one DS has coco pops and the other has chocolate weetos.

Weekends - DH makes bacon butties. Toast with nutella.

cogitosum · 25/05/2015 20:50

Ds has an omelette pretty much every day. I have a teeny pan that makes one perfectly with one egg in 2 mins. I feel pretty smug about it Grin til I remember he's a terrible eater generally so I'm just happy to get one hot meal in him!

flanjabelle · 25/05/2015 20:50

cornchips that sounds like a lovely continental breakfast! Nothing wrong with that!

Dd is going through a fussy stage now at 19months, but I tend to offer: boiled egg, toast (with dairy free spread, hummus or pate), fruit, that sort of thing. She won't eat cereals or jam/marmalade and can't have dairy so options for breakfast are a bit limited. Sometimes I cave and give her a baby food pouch just to get her to eat something nutritious. This is a tricky stage!

blacktreaclecat · 25/05/2015 20:53

DS is nearly 3. He has a cup of full fat milk and a banana first thing usually. Then cereal- he can choose from weetabix, shreddies, Cheerios, fruit wheats, crunchy bran, all bran golden crunch/ choc wheats. The last 3 are all healthy extras on slimming world so I have those and he likes them too.
He often has seconds of a different cereal or toast/ fruit toast. He sometimes has a small cup of fresh orange or Apple juice with it, or milk.

peggyundercrackers · 25/05/2015 20:53

Porridge every single day.

QuinoaLenghi · 25/05/2015 20:54

Banana pancakes (just mashed banana and egg whisked together and fried). If it's not banana pancakes then grated apply in plain yoghurt with various seeds. We cannot have gluten in our house so breakfasts are a challenge.

MozzchopsThirty · 25/05/2015 20:57

Me and ds2 (5) have salmon & egg on toast every day
Ds1 normally has 4 slices of toast with 'lots' of Nutella on

StillFrankie · 25/05/2015 20:58

shreddies or pancakes or yoghurt or toast

MrsBungle · 25/05/2015 21:01

Porridge, weatabix or Alpen a glass of orange or apple juice.?

Jen1610 · 25/05/2015 21:02

I always have about four different cereals they can have or porridge, toast and poached egg or egg in a cup. Some mornings my daughter just wants a yogurt and fruit.
