Yes, it's easy, it's yummy and DS2 eats it (he's not too good with veg).

Blandmum · 26/09/2006 17:34

I love it!

We always have it if I cook a ham. We have mashed potatoes, cooked ham, peas and cauliflower cheese. Superb!

BudaBabe · 26/09/2006 17:38

One of the only ways I eat cauliflower. Alo Gobi being one and mashed cauliflower being the other (instead of mashed potatoes when I was doing Atkins - yummy).

Also do brocolli cheese here.

Some of the ideas for additions to the basic cauliflower dish sound good too - may try some this week.

CountessDracula · 27/09/2006 13:42

ooh yes

I love it

I make it with bacon and tomatoes for a nice winter supper

oliveoil · 27/09/2006 13:44

I love cauliflower cheese

but the best way to cook cauliflower is in a cauli and potato curry thing that dh makes - quite dry, no sauce but lots of cumin and other spices I can't remember, lovely.

Piffle · 27/09/2006 13:45

Yes I get cauli in my organci veg box and its the only way it's edible

lucy5 · 27/09/2006 13:46

I do! I also add peanut butter to the sauce sometimes, it's delicious.

MrsApronstrings · 27/09/2006 13:47

I don't love it but we sometimes make it. Dd quite likes it and doesn't ordinarily touch cheese

chocolateshoes · 27/09/2006 13:50

We make it loads cos we love it - especially alongside some baked salmon. I add a teaspoon of French mustard to the sauce & pumpkin & breadcrumbs seeds on the top. Oh yummy!

bundle · 27/09/2006 13:50

gosh we have cauliflower cheese lots, is it really that odd?

SSSandy · 27/09/2006 13:55

Think a lot depends on the cheese you use. I crumble in stilton which I like the taste of. Cauliflower can be bland with all the taste boiled out of it and cheese sauce can be bland too. It can all end up limp and watery and so I understand it isn't everyone's favourite food. I steam the cauliflower and I think the sauce has a bit of flavour but I wouldn't eat it day in day out.

BarefootJasnem · 27/09/2006 13:59

We have it once a fortnight (but it's 1/2 broccoli), with roast potatoes (not Aunt Bessies!). I put mustard in the cheese sauce, too.
kama - give it a try, my 7 month old ds loves it,

hunkermunker · 27/09/2006 14:01

Do people actually eat twiglets?

Anchovy · 27/09/2006 14:02

Now I know I'm setting myself up to be called a ponce, but have you tried it with the cheese sauce made with goat's milk, all you caulifolower chese lovers.

We had to go dairy free with DD when she was small (eczema) and gradually introduced goat's milk, which she seemed to be able to tolerate. CC made with goats milk and goats' milk cheese is very nice indeed. For some reason the goatiness goes quite well with cauliflower.
