Yes, probably once a week (perks of DP on a low carb diet!)

I like rib eye best, he also likes fillet, so it depends who's buying/paying!

I do it with celeriac chips and DP makes a mean Diane sauce. I like peppercorn sauce, mushrooms and onion rings with mine.

I have a cast iron griddle which makes cool stripes on it and I usually marinade the steaks in garlic purée, lemon zest/juice, a splash of oil and a sprig of rosemary for half an hour before cooking.

DCs like it but not if there's blood, so they have theirs a bit more medium-well and ours are medium-rare.

We do it lots. I love steak and will happily eat any cut at all.

DH and I have ours rare with a sauce (creme fraiche, blue cheese and lots of black pepper), children all prefer theirs plain.

DS (13) likes ribeye medium rare
DD (13) prefers fillet medium rare
DD (6) likes sirloin or fillet rare

It's usually rump though!

I serve with roast potatoes in goose fat and either greenbeans/aasparagus/mange tout. And nothing else at all as it just detracts Smile
