Do you have a no, never food?

PetiteRaleuse · 01/02/2014 22:59

Mine is tongue. Once mistakenly ate a salad with what looked like raw furry bacon bits in it. Was gross. Learned it was cow tongue afterwards.

Other no, never stuff: oysters. Ugh. Did it once, tasted like cold semen.

Snake. I will never knowingly eat snake.

Milk. I refuse to drink milk. Hate it.

Anyone else got no, never, foods or drinks?

Marmite
Uncooked cheese or cheesy cheese- I like cream cheese, and tolerate melted/cooked cheese if on something like pizza however.
Tomato sauce.
Tomato juice.
Gherkins.

overmydeadbody · 01/02/2014 23:39

Petite for me it was the taste, oh my god it was vile, I thought it might be a horse penis or something it was so vile.

I will not ever eat margarine unless under duress (e.g at PILs house when I am desperate and have forgotten to bring my butter)

Confitdecanard · 01/02/2014 23:41

Leo that sounds disgusting! Avocado makes my mouth itch.

On the other hand, I do love oysters. They taste of the sea and are delicious with red wine vinegar and chopped shallot or a dash of Tabasco.

Milliways · 01/02/2014 23:41

Tapioca & Semolina
Tripe
Marrow & mashed swede

PetiteRaleuse · 01/02/2014 23:41

Margerine is another thing I will never knowingly eat. If even flies won't touch it, I won't touch it.

Cottage feckin cheese bleugh

PetiteRaleuse · 01/02/2014 23:43

confit and other oyster lovers? Does it really not remind you of cold semen? Is it just me?

Creme Eggs and Cadbury's Turkish delight. In fact, any Turkish delight.

And Muloukheya, slimy Egyptian spinach soup. Yuk.

Theresadogonyourballs · 01/02/2014 23:44

Coriander. I actually retched the other day just standing next to someone chopping it. The smell and the taste
DH thinks I'm supremely fussy as I have (frequently) sent food back in restaurants that has turned up with that vile green weed sprinkled all over the top of it. I once ordered plain rice in an Indian restaurant and it came to the table with finely chopped coriander stirred into it - you couldn't even pick it out. How could that possibly be described as 'plain'??

nearlyreadytopop · 01/02/2014 23:45

offal
marmite
sea urchin
shellfish
cat
dog
horse
rat
insects
pigeon
frankfurters double boke

PetiteRaleuse · 01/02/2014 23:46

Hate goat cheese unless melted. On toast. With a salad. Yummmm. But all raw and chalky

PandaFeet · 01/02/2014 23:46

Pate of any kind. Because I once had to make chicken liver pate and I was heaving. I have a strong stomach, but jesus that was horrific.

I suppose offal too, but there are very few foods that I would absolutely refuse to eat even though I dislike them.

TeaAndSconesTwice · 01/02/2014 23:46

Oh my I'm with you on the black pudding, anchovies and salad cream, also hate all fish apart from tuna, cod and prawns.

PetiteRaleuse · 01/02/2014 23:47

Have never tasted marmite. The smell put me off.

wiltingfast · 01/02/2014 23:51

Offal

Snails

I mean there's plenty of stuff I'm not fond of but just cannot stomach those 2 at all.

wadi1983 · 01/02/2014 23:51

shell fish

Snail

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 01/02/2014 23:52

Corn should either be eaten on the cob or popped. No other way. Sweetcorn is VILE and this English obsession with putting it on Every. Fucking. Thing. is one of my least favourite things about living in this green and pleasant land.

Sweetcorn in salads
Sweetcorn in tuna mayo
Sweetcorn on pizza
Sweetcorn in chilli
Sweetcorn in lasagne

WRONG WRONG WRONG.

wiltingfast · 01/02/2014 23:52

Though actually I happily eat pate so I guess it's really just snails Blush

wetaugust · 01/02/2014 23:53

Celery. Aubergine. Fenugreek. Chillies. Almost all meat.

Cataline · 02/02/2014 00:01

theresadogonyourballs I'm totally with you on the coriander. Vile, evil bastard stuff. Celery is also disgusting. I won't eat kiwis as I'm allergic to them, am completely intolerant to onions and am also a vegan so will eat nothing animal-related! Oh and anything involving hot milk - even the thought if it makes me want to puke!!

ThisIsMyRealName · 02/02/2014 00:02

Prawns
Crab
Celery
Cucumber
fish stock (i'm not against fish as a meal, but i hate that overpowering fishy flavour that comes from using fish stock, blurgh!)

CouthyMow · 02/02/2014 00:05

More than one. I'm fussy!

Coconut. I can taste coconut even baked in something, and the smell makes me Boak. It's hard enough pouring DS3's coconut milk on his cereal without vomiting into the bowl, and it has to be done as he's CMPA!

Celery. I can taste it even when simmered in a sauce for hours, even when out in a restaurant. I avoid anything tomato based in restaurants for this reason. It's SO bitter. Bleurgh! Again, makes me retch.

Aniseed - I actually vomit, properly puke at just the SMELL of it. I've never dared to try fennel or any aniseed flavoured alcohol. Pimms makes me judder just to think about...

Coffee - I still retch at the smell of a cup of coffee. Again, you can SMELL the bitterness.

Anything else I can, will, and have forced down even if I dislike them, but these foods are truly a no-no.

Randomly ALL of my DC's ALSO physically vomit at the SMELL of aniseed, and I even held in my revulsion and gave them aniseed sweets when little. Best incident was DD puking in her party bag whilst still in the venue because as soon as she opened it, the smell of the black jacks in there got her!!

None of them like the smell of coffee or can touch celery either.

Three will eat, and in fact love coconut though.

CouthyMow · 02/02/2014 00:07

Sprouts. Again with the bitterness.

PetiteRaleuse · 02/02/2014 00:08

couthy I sympathise re the coconut milk. I am like that with regular milk. Formula, breast, cow's milk. I boak at every spilt drop. Being a mum is much harder for the children needing to drink milk thing.

PetiteRaleuse · 02/02/2014 00:10

And coffee. I don't get coffee. Tea I dislike but can drink it if put in front of me. But the smell/taste of coffe? Ugh.
