Do you have a no, never food?

Mine is tongue. Once mistakenly ate a salad with what looked like raw furry bacon bits in it. Was gross. Learned it was cow tongue afterwards.

Other no, never stuff: oysters. Ugh. Did it once, tasted like cold semen.

Snake. I will never knowingly eat snake.

Milk. I refuse to drink milk. Hate it.

Anyone else got no, never, foods or drinks?

Jellied eels are lovely!! I hated the idea of them, and a friend dragged me off to the east end (before it went all chi-chi and upmarket) to the jellied eel stall that had been there since he was a kid. Insisted on getting some for me as well as himself.

They looked urgh...
I girded my loins and put some in my mouth....

Bliss! They were gorgeous! We would often go there after that.

Oh yes pics cheese with fruit is quite wrong...

I will pretty much eat any food that's widely available in the UK. Probably couldn't eat guinea pig or dog or anything pet-like. Have eaten rabbit but it was a bit meh.

Love oysters, things with tentacles, pigeon, olives, offal, many many things on this thread!!

Would find it hard to eat corned beef or luncheon meat, unless it's in a hash so I can't experience the texture.

Could live without carrot and sweet corn but can tolerate it.

I am another that loves lots of the foods on here! I have no issue with offal and would try brains if offered and like andouillete.

But papaya/paw paw is just revolting and tastes like vomit. And what is worse is how it disguises itself as mango in a fruit salad.

Also will never eat cheese with fruit in it.

And of course if I were hungry I wouldn't be nearly so fussy. I do like lots of things though, many on other posters' lists, blue cheese, sprouts, goat's cheese, stinky cheese, scallops, sushi, sashimi, steak tartare!

I should add that I have never been faced with the last eight on the list

Report

I like to say I'm not fussy but these are non-negotiable: I should add most of these I have never tried but my gag reflex is my judge
Celery - just cannot abide the taste
Apricots - just cannot swallow them, am gagging at the thought. Love peaches and nectarines though....
Offal, including testicles
Might eat liver, but none of the other internal organs
Rabbit/hare
Pigeon (don't know why, can't stand the little bastards)
Frog's Legs
Snails and actually most shelled things, bar mussels, scallops, prawns, crab and lobster
Foie gras
Forced duck (saw it on TV, nearly puked on the spot)
Snake
Dog
Cat
Rat
Insects
Arachnids
Sea urchins

Bananas, although only for energy reasons and there was NOTHING else suitable in the whole of Tesco - these crossover to the other list below, things I would only eat out of politeness/if I can't acceptably pick them out, because I hate to look fussy ...
Beetroot
raw onion
Liver
Black pudding
custard
cream and sponge combo as you get in trifle
Milk puddings
celeriac
fennel
tarragon
peanut butter

I'll stop now, although I know I've missed a lot off.

Foie Gras - due to the way it is 'created' and the cruelty to the birds by force feeding (in France)

Peanut butter, just the smell has me gagging

And blue cheese

Report
BirthdayMuppet · 04/02/2014 19:28

Shellfish apart from scallops
Celery
Tea

Anything else I'll pretty much be able to chocke down if necessary. Those three make me actually vomit.

SuckItAndSee · 04/02/2014 19:26

i am pretty fussy, and prefer not to eat most offal, fatty meats, and quite a lot of root veg. however I could choke any of those down for politeness' sake.

But i will, never, ever eat a baked bean.
