I want to make cauliflower cheese, but what else can I put on the plate? Am kind of making it already so quick answers would be nice!

Green veg, and mashed potato would be my suggestion!

magso · 20/01/2014 19:50

Ham. Potato.

Twinsplusonesurprise · 20/01/2014 19:51

Garlic bread & salad.
Mmmm.
Can I have some please?!

OverAndAbove · 20/01/2014 19:51

Sausages!

pussycatdoll · 20/01/2014 19:51

Well I can happily eat it on it's own
You could add chorizo to spice it up
It's often served with a roast dinner
Or any meat really: steak, gammon
Jacket potato would be too much I think

LynetteScavo · 20/01/2014 19:51

Sasuages?

Weirdly, Mexican spicy bean burgers go amazingly well.

CarriesPawnShop · 20/01/2014 19:51

A nice bit of gammon.

UriGeller · 20/01/2014 19:52

We always have cauli cheese with sausages. Those meaty buggers, 98% pork.

VelvetStrider · 20/01/2014 19:52

Put other stuff into the cauliflower cheese, then you don't have to make anything else. Mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers....

UriGeller · 20/01/2014 19:53

Pussycatdolls post looks like a poem.

Bonsoir · 20/01/2014 19:53

Agree with others: cauliflower cheese is great with pork - sausage, bacon (grilled and crispy)

Catsmamma · 20/01/2014 19:53

Bacon

more cheese

More bacon.

what's not to like?

PestoStormissimos · 20/01/2014 19:56

Sausages

storytopper · 20/01/2014 19:59

Home-made potato wedges and petit pois.

FruitOwl · 20/01/2014 20:00

Agree with everyone who said sausages! Maybe some green veg too, peas or green beans.

WestmorlandSausage · 20/01/2014 20:02

we are having it with roast potatoes and gammon tonight with baby corn.
yum

BrokenBananaTantrum · 20/01/2014 20:02

Ham
Mmmmmmmmm

Splodges · 20/01/2014 20:02

Oh fantastic, thank you all. I'm a rubbish cook and I just looked up how to do this tonight, and it sounds like it's going to be really useful - I love the sound of all the things above and will now be eating it for weeks while I try ALL the suggestions Grin

It's even a proper cooked thing, not just a thing on toast which are the only other things I can make. And it's come out only just a little teeny weeny bit lumpy. Result. Thanks folks!

Chicken breast and mash. Yum

BrunoBrookesDinedAlone · 20/01/2014 20:05

We do it with wee roast potatoes and peas, and put broccoli and red onion as well as cauli in the cheese. Can also add mushrooms/leek/ a bit of sweet potato - ANYTHING is good when in a cheese sauce.

Splodges · 20/01/2014 20:12

Mmmmm keep 'em coming, I might even threaten to make my DP dinner some time and he'll assume he's getting toast and then I'll put leeks and red onions and sausages and bacon and a poem in it Grin

OP posts:
Fairylea · 20/01/2014 20:14

Bacon and roast potatoes!

SinisterSal · 20/01/2014 20:17

pussyCatDoll's post does look like a poem Grin

I stroked my chin while reading it.

She really captures the moment in her imagery

MajesticWhine · 20/01/2014 20:24

Sausages, ketchup, jacket potato

Honsandrevels · 20/01/2014 20:28

I can't believe no one has said beans. Beans and sausages, or roast beef and all the trimmings.
