Close to zero. We never drink. DH drinks in the pub I think, but I never really do. Especially not now I am pregnant. Pre-children is a different story. Bottle of wine a night...

Janstar · 17/02/2004 13:34

I guess it must be something like £80 on average. That is scary.

Bozza · 17/02/2004 13:36

Currently about £2 a week for at home drinking. Normally (ie when I'm not pregnant) about £5 a week. Don't go out much either. Just that DH drinks very little. I will normally have a bottle of wine at a weekend.

Thomcat · 17/02/2004 13:38

Well we get through at least 1 bottle a night, every night, but it's a bit more like a bottle and a half tbh. I try not to spend more than about £3-£5 a bottle so what's that... ohhh, actually don't think I want to put that out there in print!!!

Sonnet · 17/02/2004 14:08

ooo...at home drinking only about 4 bottles of wine per week ( on av 4.50 per bottle) = £18, plus about £6 worth of beer max (DH)and 1/4 bottle of wiskey = £3, therefore total of £27
Oh my god thats over £100 a month....

LadyCodworth · 17/02/2004 14:09

god! 100 quid a week!!!
I would be going to alcohol anaonymous ig that was me

afiver if that

Clayhead · 17/02/2004 14:10

Between £3 and £5

Bozza · 17/02/2004 14:11

Thinking about starting a new thread on why we never have any cash when we always come out low on the spending threads (food, drink etc) and average plus on the income side.

zebra · 17/02/2004 14:18

We buy boxes of "quality" wines from the bulk discounters, Laithwaites, that kind of thing. But the wine is SO nice, I can't happily drink cheap stuff any more!! Even still, we don't drink much, I think the last £80 order (24 bottles) lasted us 14 months? Plus occasional bottles of cider or going to the pub, but can't be more than £2/week.

hercules · 17/02/2004 14:20

DH has probably one bottle of wine a week so around £4-5 a week.

marialuisa · 17/02/2004 14:30

Does anyone know if any of the supermarkets stock Singha beer or beer chang?

Sonnet · 17/02/2004 14:33

That was £100 per month Lady Codworth....

LadyCodworth · 17/02/2004 14:35

not for scooby tho

suzywong · 17/02/2004 14:37

Well I have £30 worth of red wine bottles sitting on top of the tumble drier waiting for the recycling fairy to come and do her stuff. That must be about 4-5 weeks' worth.
Would be more if wasn't BF

FairyMum · 17/02/2004 14:38

Do you not worry about drinking when responisble for your children? I am not being judgemental, just curious. I have had so many experiences with children needing me at night and also had to rush off to hospital a few times with them. I am really worried about being drunk (or even tipsy) and not in control. Do you not worry about that?

marialuisa · 17/02/2004 14:44

DH and i have had a few rows when he's been left to look after DD on his own only for me to come back and find him wrecked. most notably when she was about 2 weeks old. Generally i have a few drinks and he gets wasted. He has a particularly high tolerance as well so it takes serios amounts for him to get in that state. TBH I feel as if I'm always ok so it's not really a problem (except that I can't sleep in the same room as DH!). DH thinks i'm too uptight though.

Was very freaked out by acquaintances who smoked dope from 10 a.m., around their kids though.

CountessDracula · 17/02/2004 14:45

We have a bottle of wine between us 3 nights a week and usually two on fridays @ £5 per bottle oh no £3.50 as we bought this lot in france so that's £17.50

Plus one night a week we usually have spirits so maybe £3?

2 nights a week we don't drink (boo today and tomorrow)

Though we usually go out 1 night a week and sometimes drink a lot more.

£20 per week, not bad.

Though we do

suzywong · 17/02/2004 14:46

no fairymum
never get out of control or have more than 2 small glasses
What a saint

Sonnet · 17/02/2004 15:15

Only a 2 glasses per evening...so,no don't worry...

Angeliz · 17/02/2004 15:18

About 25 pounds a week, mostly on wine but hope to be pregnant soon so will stop
I am never out of control !

WSM · 17/02/2004 15:26

Quite low, around £10 - £15 a week. I don't drink really so that is just 3 bottles of wine for DH which are drunk at the weekend (he doesn't drink during the week). If I do drink then we have a fairly well stocked spirits cabinet so I'll have one or 2 vodkas out of there per week, that's it really.
