doughnuts in there..would you eat one?

I've heard of them but never had one and I'm on a diet

They've just opened one in Oxford, and (although I haven't been in, honest) they had a sign outside advertising their 'World Cup' package, where they would delivery doughnuts and champagne to your house (presumably only in Oxford itself). Nice idea, but not necessarily a good combination, I'd think.

melsy · 23/06/2006 12:02

I have a box sitting right next to me , anyone want them ???????????, the though just making me feel sick today , Im not right am I !!!!!

For a bit of Krispy trivia; The company name, original ring iced ones and logo are like 50yrs old and started by a man in his house. Supposedly friends used to que(sp?) outside when he did a batch !!

zippitippitoes · 23/06/2006 12:04

champagne and donuts can't possibly work together...perhaps amaretto?

OP posts:
JackieNo · 23/06/2006 12:05

Ooh yes amaretto. But I think coffee would just be simplest. Or coffee with amaretto in...

arfishymeau · 23/06/2006 12:08

As somebody who has often woken up to find several unidentified teens asleep on the living room floor, beer bottles and empty pizza boxes in the kitchen and the contents of the fridge decimated I would most definitely judiciously help myself to a doughnut or two and call it 'rent'.

zippitippitoes · 23/06/2006 12:09

arfishimeau..I thought that..I believe the girlfriend has no intention of leaving until 28 July

MrsBadger · 23/06/2006 12:10

oh noooo JackieNo, there's not one in Oxford is there?!

I treated myself to one at Paddington on the way home after a ghastly meeting in London and it was very good indeed... but now they're local I can see myself developing a habit. Lucky I don't have to go through town on the way to/from work any more I guess...

themoon66 · 23/06/2006 12:17

Oxford is well down South. Is there nowhere further north that sells them??

arfishymeau · 23/06/2006 12:30

28th July? Whole box. Murmur that they go off after a day if caught.

JackieNo · 23/06/2006 12:31

MrsB - it's in the new 'old prison' development, together with a whole load of other restaurants and the Malmaison hotel. All very nice. Didn't know you were 'local'.

zippitippitoes · 23/06/2006 12:37

they'll probably get up before the 28 july though..

I just went and stood outside the bedroom door and said krispy kreme donuts lovely..ds mumbled something but i didn't quite catch it

I suppose i could pretend i thought he said mum they are for you

have one go on, it's your fridge feign innocence you thought they were yours..... I doubt they'll notice one missing they can't possibly eat two boxes full you're doing them a favour really it would be bad for their health to eat a couple of dozen doughnuts.....

themoon66 · 23/06/2006 12:41

Good grief you've been agonising about these since 9am?? (just looked back down thread).

I'd have eaten the lot by now, destroyed the box, and denied I'd ever even seen them.

'you put what in the fridge? nah, sorry love, you must be dreaming@.

zippitippitoes · 23/06/2006 12:45

Yes i'm a wuss

He rang up last night just as i was about to have a glass of wine and watch the footie and asked me to go and buy him 4 tins of carling as he had missed his train

I put them in the fridge and this morning they had morphed into krispi creme donuts

magical a bit like mr benn in the back of his shop

because he is/was asleep now he may be merely in bed with his gf and it is too near my lunch time and because of compromising my diet

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 23/06/2006 14:19

what an anti climax..he tried to sell me one for a quid but i negotiated a free one which was then microwaved for 8 seconds and was very sweet and soft

OP posts:
themoon66 · 23/06/2006 14:24

And........ was it worth the wait??

zippitippitoes · 23/06/2006 14:29

no

nor the sacrifice of having quark salad for lunch
