Just wondering in case I am odd.

OP posts:
SorrelForbes · 11/02/2013 19:30

Not odd. My next house has to have a larder. Inside will be a meat safe which DH has promised to make me to keep my jars of dripping for spreading on toast preserves and jellies in.

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 11/02/2013 19:33

Ohhh, I'd bloody love one. I'd like a stationary cupboard too but that's just greedy Grin

Geranium3 · 11/02/2013 19:33

no OP you are not odd, unless i am as well!!
I would love a great big one, we used to have one as a child but then i thought it was frightfully old fashioned!
I do have 2 built in larder cupboards in my fitted kitchen, floor to ceiling which are very useful but not the same as a real larder!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 11/02/2013 19:34

Yes, I really do.

My Mum has one, and it is always in a dreadful state of disarray. I would make much better use of it!

Isildur · 11/02/2013 19:35

We have a larder. A draght blows through it, but it's handy for hiding/storing stuff.

HobKnob · 11/02/2013 19:36

O no, I'd love one.

I currently cook for 6 and cater for up to 50 out of my miniscule cupboard of a kitchen. I have so little cupboard space that I have overflowed onto a bookcase in the living room.

I dream about a larder!

Newyearoldmum · 11/02/2013 19:37

I'd LOVE one!

Charmingbaker · 11/02/2013 19:37

I would love one, no more rooting around cupboards on my hands and knees looking for one thing, but finding something festering I forgot about.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 11/02/2013 19:37

I think it would be great over here, we had one in Australia and it was a breeding ground for weevils and cockroaches found it deeply alluring as well..
Nice.

FrankWippery · 11/02/2013 19:37

I've always wanted one and now I have one. It's lovely.

BellaVita · 11/02/2013 19:38

Meeeee! I would love one.

boxoftricks · 11/02/2013 19:39

We have a larder. The cat likes to take up residence in the far corner. By ad the coldest room in the house. A block of butter will stay v firm in there at the moment!!
(But then we also have a boot room... Beat that)

FrankWippery · 11/02/2013 19:39

You've just had a new kitchen Bella, why on earth didn't you have one put in?

BellaVita · 11/02/2013 19:39

Frank Envy

BillyBollyDandy · 11/02/2013 19:40

I have one, it basically doubles the size of my kitchen. It has plumbing so did house the washing machine and dryer, but they are now in the extended laundry bit and so I have it to store all sorts of kids crap

multitask · 11/02/2013 19:40

YES YES YES just like Nigella's :) My parents had one when I lived at home and they bloody knocked it down to make the kitchen bigger!! I grieved for that larder it was massive and I missed it so much :( I'd love to have one again..

BellaVita · 11/02/2013 19:41

Wasn't room for one Frank Sad

Maybe I shall have to come down and share yours Grin

FrankWippery · 11/02/2013 19:41

Yeah, but I had to move to get it. Well worth it though.

FrankWippery · 11/02/2013 19:42

Yes, you must. We can sip champagne in there or something!

blibblibs · 11/02/2013 19:42

I have a boot room Grin
No larder though...
But would really really love a utility room.

TheOriginalLadyFT · 11/02/2013 19:43

We have one - it is great, I must admit (except for when the damn mice appear). We call it the nuclear bunker, as DH stocks up on the weirdest things that then get stacked on the shelving

I also have a walk-in wardrobe (one of the joys of living in a big cold as a fridge old house) and it is the envy of my shoe-obsessed sister

ouryve · 11/02/2013 19:43

Not odd. My mum has one. If I had one, I'd hide in it.

ImpatientOne · 11/02/2013 19:43

Me me me!

I am very Envy about your boot room box

When if we extend to create my beautiful kitchen and family room I will also have a larder and boot room Grin I may however be too old to have a family by that time but never mind...

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 11/02/2013 19:45

Oh, I want a larder and a boot room. That is the life I was meant to have.

Damn.

WhispersOfWickedness · 11/02/2013 19:46

I want one too Sad And a utility room. And a boot room. I can't boast any extra rooms Sad
