Just a light hearted thread at lunch time...

Mine depends on the time of year, at the moment it's definitely strawberries ('proper' ones, not the imported kind that have no flavour).

I also LOVE our home made bread and a cup of decaff tea in the morning.

And obviously Ice cream (Ben and Jerry's rules supreme in this house!)

creamed mashed potato with oodles of butter and Stilton crumbled into it, with hunks of warm buttered crusty bread and really thick singed bacon.

Pernod · 18/04/2006 17:15

Rice cakes with peanut butter & cheese yummy....

crunchie · 18/04/2006 17:21

Looking at this list, it seems MN has cravings for FAT, CARBS and CHOCOLATE!!

Sometimes a combo of all with the Macoroni cheese, cheese on toast followed by chocolate.

Mine is ho cross buns and all other cakey/buns with raisins :) However EASTER HAS GONE and I need to get back on my diet :) NO MORE BUNS :)

Quite normal really.

Pringles
Cheese on toast.
Potato bread fried and dipped into an egg.
Soda farls toasted with REAL butter Grin

This thread has reminded me of all the things I love!

Anyone ever had a big bowl of wholemeal pasta with cheese on top? It's lush.

I also love hot cross buns, especially at this time of year because they taste so good!

I'm surprised chocolate isn't more popular! When I was pregnant it was ham.. lots and lots of ham, and I was a vegetarian Blush

noddyholder · 18/04/2006 19:17

Love mashed potato butter and cheese Very rarely eat it though

lilstarry1 · 18/04/2006 19:19

Soreen = a malt loaf with raisins in it.. My DP is currently licking his lips and singing its praises. I remain unconvinced :)

thanks Smile okay next question - what's paratha and colcannon.... don't want to missing out on potential comfort foods by being unitiated!!

fuzzywuzzy · 18/04/2006 19:27

paratha is an indian flat bread, very like a roti, comes with different fillings. I make a sweet one to eat with my tea...when I've finished the family sized fruit and nut bar obviously.

ProfYaffle · 18/04/2006 19:51

Toasty type products, ie, crumpets, muffins, potato cakes, really thick toast, bagels etc etc smothered in real butter.

mmmmmmm ......

booge · 18/04/2006 19:56

Cornish pasties. Not too often though as soooo hugely calorific

lilstarry1 · 18/04/2006 20:03

Real hot chocolate, and a Twix bar to dip in it, then suck off the chocolate, then the (now runny) caramel, then the biscuit. Yum

fiveaday · 18/04/2006 20:39

My ultimate comfort food is quite unhealthy but perfect for when you are curled up on the sofa, it's potato wedges, grated cheese and hot nando's sauce all served in a huge bowl. It is delicious but very calorific. If I need comfort food but without the fat I eat fruit'n'fibre flakes straight from the pack, which I would never let dd's do!

FrannyandZooey · 18/04/2006 20:43

White toast with butter, cut from a crusty loaf - can't remember the last time I had that but it's gooooood.

Nice stodgy cake, pref with chunks of chocolate in.

Chips with grated cheese on. Blush In a white roll. Shock With butter Blush Shock Blush

Bradsmum · 18/04/2006 20:43
