Not giving dc margarine...............

I read a thread on here the other night on things you don't let your dc eat, I noticed lots of people said marg, so what's so bad about it? Is it better to use butter instead then?

I've used flora for years and ds has it now and then on toast, not all that often but is it better to use something else then?

We use 'President' (French brand) spreadable butter - contains no oil, but, left out of the fridge for a few minutes, it's very easy to spread on bread.
