What a question.

Everyone know Christmas Day breakfast is chocolate!

We do bagels, smoked salmon and cream cheese. Used to be accompanied by Buck's Fizz but that was pre kids and we can't quite face it now we're up at Santa o'clock. Still lovely though.

dottygamekeeper · 14/12/2012 15:50

Smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, and bucks fizz - lovely!

NettoHoHoHoSuperstar · 14/12/2012 15:52

Smoked salmon with scramled duck eggs, on toasted bagels.

overmydeadbody · 14/12/2012 15:52

We do delicious cinnamon pull apart bread or pan au chocolate. Sometimes american pancakes with maple syrup and bacon.

heymammy · 14/12/2012 15:53

Most of us are having American style pancakes with maple syrup (golden syrup in my case, yumm), make the batter the night before so no prep on Xmas morn, DP is having smoked salmon scrambled eggs and the DC will be having stocking chocolate but may pause long enough to eat a pancake!

Nivet · 14/12/2012 15:56

I was thinking of doing Nigella's Christmas muffins this year.

FrostyScherenschnitte · 14/12/2012 15:58

We have warmed croissants filled with nice bacon or ham and melted cheese. Very tasty, especially with brown sauce!

PoppyAmex · 14/12/2012 16:08

Smoked salmon on blinis and/or rye bread and clementine bucks fizz.

For Boxing Day we'll have (brilliant hangover cure) Eggs Florentine with Irn Brun:

sourdough, spinach, poached egg, nutmeg, butter, hollandaise sauce and plenty of pepper.

christmaspuddingpippin · 14/12/2012 16:17

Christmas muffins and fruit kebabs for the dc and lots of coffee for us first thing. They all like to eat the moment they wake up and so I prepare this the night before. Then after we have done presents and got dressed we have smoked salmon and eggs while the dc have chocolate.

PoppyAmex · 14/12/2012 16:20

*Irn Bru, obviously

Taffeta · 14/12/2012 16:23

No way am I cooking or indeed making any effort at breakfast, will be too busy with lunch the rest of the day.

I have bought an Almond Taste the Difference Panettone which I plan on toasting. May have some speshul drinks to go with.

Pourquoimoi · 14/12/2012 16:24

Waitrose do yummy bake from frozen croissants, pain au chocolat and pain aux raisins. All delicious Smile

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 14/12/2012 16:24

bigTillyMincePie · 14/12/2012 17:19

Nivet, we do Nigellas Christmas muffins - they are yummy and dead easy!

LaCiccolina · 14/12/2012 17:28

Smoke salmon n scramble eggs. And proper Buck's Fizz - prosecco, OJ and a shot of triple sec.

Yum!

ditavonteesed · 14/12/2012 17:30

another vote for smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with soe sort of fizzy stuff.

ravenAK · 14/12/2012 17:35

Bagels here - scrambled eggs for dh & dc, smoked salmon for me.

& a huge, spicy Bloody Mary. Yum.

MotherOfNations · 14/12/2012 17:39

Hot chocolate or coffee with a good slug of Bailey's in it.

fanoftheinvisiblebigredman · 14/12/2012 17:39

I only live a few streets from my mum but we sleep iver so we are all together in the morning along with my grandma and it is bacon butties all round!

TrillsCarolsOutOfTune · 14/12/2012 17:40

Croissants with cheese and ham

mamaLou13 · 14/12/2012 20:57

ooh some ovley ideas here. I might give nigella's muffins a go, not sure if dd will like them, they will get eaten though. We are vegetarian so salmon and bacon are not options in our house maybe pancakes.....

chocolateshoes · 14/12/2012 20:59

croissants & bucks fizz

sandripples · 15/12/2012 18:47

Blinis are good for salmon eaters and veggies - I warm the blinis up and do a mix - some cream cheese blobs and some salmon. Yum! I'm doing muffins this year though and have bought very festive muffin papers!

We're going to have a vegan with us this year...the main meal is no prob but I hadn't thought about breakfast, so will think on! Fruit salad perhaps.

FTRsawMammykissingSantaClaus · 15/12/2012 18:59

My auntie, uncle and cousins have had a trifle and Black Forest gateau for Xmas breakfast for as long as I can remember!
Another vote for American style pancakes, crispy maple cured bacon and syrup in our house Smile
