Would you like to help us test recipes for the Mumsnet Cookbook?

Shhh .. don't tell everyone but we're working on a top secret new project in the form of The Mumsnet Cookbook and we need your help.

We'd like to get together a Mumsnet Cookbook cookery group to stop us from piling on the pounds help us test these shortlisted recipes.

Each volunteer will be allocated a recipe which they'll then cook for their family and give us some feedback on how easy, hard, good, bad, expensive etc they are and whether they'd make it again. All the recipes chosen were submitted over the years by Mumsnetters, so there shouldn't be any outlandish Shock or particularly difficult to source ingredients - and they should all be pretty easy to make (we hope!).

As a thank-you, we'll be putting everyone who helps out into a prize draw to win a Bloomsbury cookbook.

And if that's not enough of an incentive, everyone who helps will have their *Mumsnetter nickname featured in the cookbook's acknowledgements.

Back again - with more recipes to put out to test. This week it's fast food - so we're looking at recipes that really don't take long to both prepare and knock up.

I'll post this here for a bit and then start PM-ing those of you who've offered to test in the past if there aren't enough testers. Let me know by posting below if you're up for it - and what recipe you'd like to try out.

creamy garlic mushrooms
superspeedy homemade 'pot noodle'
MamaG's quick spicy pasta sauce
quick couscous
choc, cherry and hazelnut flapjack

CatherineHMumsnet · 12/03/2013 09:32

Snowball - great. I'll put you down for the mushrooms. Do you have the link for the feedback form?

Stateofconfusion - which one would you like to do?

OP posts:
snowballinashoebox · 12/03/2013 09:41

auntierozzi · 12/03/2013 09:57

I'd love to help :-)

zipzap · 12/03/2013 10:00

Do you need any help with the choc cherry flapjacks?

[hopeful]Grin

laptopwieldingharpy · 12/03/2013 10:21

Feel compelled to help you out of your misery with following:
Couscous (am born and raised in a country where it is a staple food)
Pot noodles ( very counter-intuitively, my kids born and raised in S-E Asia)
Fussy eaters here so Am also master of last minute variations on both subjects.

CatherineHMumsnet · 12/03/2013 10:56

Zipzap - we certainly do - can I put you down for that? Will you be able to do it this week?

Laptop - lovely - I'll put you down for couscous and pot noodles

We'd like every recipe tested by two Mumsnetters ideally, so we're still looking for volunteers....

laptopwieldingharpy · 12/03/2013 11:04

Yum yum! Do i just post here on this thread?

CatherineHMumsnet · 12/03/2013 11:10

If you're testing for us - you can give us feedback on your recipe by clicking here and filling in the brief form (will only take a mo)

OP posts:
laptopwieldingharpy · 12/03/2013 11:22

OK tks! will do tomorrow after I've had a chance to read this post!

zipzap · 12/03/2013 14:53

Yes - will do them this afternoon or tomorrow as I bought some hazelnuts at the supermarket this morning just in case :o

Do you want the mushrooms testing too a second time? I have some mushrooms and Boursin sitting in my fridge that I was planning on using for lunch tomorrow (well the mushrooms anyhow - I was going to hope that inspiration struck when opening the fridge but there is Boursin there!)

ChipTheFish · 12/03/2013 15:00

Any more volunteers needed?

snoworneahva · 13/03/2013 09:29

Happy to volunteer too

snoworneahva · 13/03/2013 09:33

Could do the noodles - I'd be too tempted to make additions to the other recipes. Smile
