I haven't weighed myself lately but am two sizes bigger than pre-pg. This is good news for me though as I was ill before - couldn't eat more than a starter without feeling desperately sick. Now I can enjoy my food but it staggers me how hungry I can be.

Cod's glass of water instead is a good idea - I read this once in Nigel Slater and did it for a while.
I do want to lose weight, hate the lardy tum. V timely thread!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 16/03/2006 14:28

the problem we have cod is that to fit in with Jess we eat dinner at 5pm - we dont go to bed til 1am, so at about 10pm im hungry again!

toast toast and more toast for me.... love it, but the hips dont!

So HOW exactly can you lose weight when you LOVE certain things too much to give them up?!

iota · 16/03/2006 14:29

Middle age spread is not a myth - it's a reality

cod · 16/03/2006 14:29

and if oyu liek a galss of wine in the evenign DO NOT have it wiht your meal

dirnk water iwht the meal toc ombat thirst then fdrink the wine after
it makes you sip it slowly rather than gulp it as a drink

you could try low-fat bread like Nimble. Or go to bed earlier!! How do you survive on that much sleep or do your girls sleep in?!!

cod · 16/03/2006 14:30

hmm the early meal is a prob but maybe bint he bread form lunch and have it then
ro if you really dont want to eat at all then clean your teeth!

compo · 16/03/2006 14:30

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 16/03/2006 14:32

ok, so tomorrow is the Cod DIET bootcamp then!

nailpolish · 16/03/2006 14:32

jarm - if youre not hungry at 5pm you can still make jess' tea and sit at the table with her with a cup of tea and have your tea later (after she is in bed maybe?)

you dont have to do this every night, have tea with her sometimes, like fri/sat/sun maybe

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 16/03/2006 14:32

we've tried before NP - she wont eat unless we eat.... she is a real PITA.

desperateSCOUSEwife · 16/03/2006 14:33

cod dont eat bread
it is really pound piling stuff

compo · 16/03/2006 14:34

lack of sleep makes you crave a sugar fix like chocolate. Go to bed before midnight Grin

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 16/03/2006 14:35

will try!

COD.... set up a diet bootcamp PLEASE!

joelalie · 16/03/2006 14:35

Sorry...wine is one of the basic food groups isn't it???

Can't give that up. I only drink a few glasses at weekends but that's essential....honest.
I always finish up by drinking twice as much water as i did wine before I go to bed though. I tend to try to get through about 2.5 litres of water a day anyway. Very good for you but I've never found it suppresses appetite though sadly Sad

nailpolish · 16/03/2006 14:36

god i couldnt live without bread

i have changed my tea from white to black though (small things make a difference)

and i dont have any biscuits or crisps in the house (visitors moan)

desperateSCOUSEwife · 16/03/2006 14:37

I lost over a stone in 2 weeks by having no bread

WigWamBam · 16/03/2006 14:38

I'm a comfort eater, have been all my life, and even the fact that I'm huge and the scales keep going upwards can't shock me into stopping. And I hate it. I don't eat anything shockingly bad, I don't use fat, I don't fry anything, I don't eat huge portions of anything at meal times, I don't eat tubs of ice-cream and cream cakes all day (even if most people would suspect I do!) but I pick at bits and pieces during the day because I can't stop myself - it's a craving for something in my mouth, sometimes it feels almost physical. Stupid thing is, it's healthy stuff I'm picking at - fruit, wholemeal bread, crackers and stuff rather than crisps, chocolate and biscuits - but I'm picking at it all day.

I don't know about a dieting bootcamp ... I think I probably need my mouth stapling shut and my hands tied behind my back!

sunchowder · 16/03/2006 14:40

Coming onto this late probably....I find it takes very little to maintain my huge mass. My problem is not exercising. Something dreadful has happened to my metabolisim, I take thyroid medication for a slow thyroid, and I am not producing enough Human Growth Hormone. When my doctor tested my bloodwork for the HCG, he was stunned. Anyway, I no longer take the HCG supplements they were too damn expensive. I know I need to exercise and simply stop fried foods and starches.

misdee · 16/03/2006 14:51

My weakness is toast, and takeaways. i am aiming to lose a stone at a time, and my 1 st target is to get under 15stone (weighed 15stone 8 on mondayBlush). i have the fruit bowl next to the pc now, so last night instead of getting up to make toast i had a small apple and an orange.

cod · 16/03/2006 14:56
