I gave up trying to keep pancakes as deserts last year, & for one day put out Ice Cream, melted choc, Bananas, maple syrup, lemon, sugar, etc etc & made pancakes until they had had enough.

They all thought it fab, & it's only one day :)

Anyone else do this?

I have findus crispy pancakes. I haven't eaten them since I was a student myself but remember being strangely addicted to the wierd orange breadcrumb crust. The were on bogof in morrisons and they are just the sort of processed non healthy item ds sees as a huge treat.

I go for lemon and sugar. I have to clean the floor tomorrow so we can eat the ones that we didn't manage to catch after flipping Blush.

I had completely forgotten it was pancake day omorrow, until I read this. Have made casserole for tomorrow now :(

Maybe we could have them for dessert with melted chocolate and fruit? Hmmm.

biglips · 27/02/2006 21:07

oohh yummy!!!... we are having ours in the morning before Dp goes to work..

JanH · 27/02/2006 21:09

In theory we have a teensy-weensy-little-snackette-type-thing and then mountains of pancakes but in fact it ends up being just the mountains.

Not sure what I will cook them in though, some craven villain has ruined my best omelette pan.

fredly · 27/02/2006 21:26

We do ! Will be my dd's first ever crepe tomorrow !! Smile And I flip them with a coin in my hand as well, but I suppose you all do, don't you ?! Wink

KBear · 27/02/2006 21:29

Just pancakes in the Kbear household. Traditionally we eat about ten each then then lay on the floor for an hour feeling stuffed.

Just lemon and sugar although DS likes banana on his too. DH hates them so will go hungry Grin (just kidding, might rustle him up some dinner after his 12 hour shift at work!!!).

We had a rehearsal two weeks ago when being the bad parent that I am I couldn't be bothered to make a healthy nutritious dinner for the familyShock.

divamummy · 27/02/2006 21:35

cod · 27/02/2006 21:49

oh

ok then

HidingFromMoondog · 27/02/2006 21:49

nulnulcat

Get a batter mix from Tesco.

About 40p, and makes loads. Buy a couple of boxes to make sure, and be sure to have eggs in the house. You add 1/2 pint of water and an egg to each sachet of mix, you get two sachets in a box. It does taste exactly the same as "real" pancakes, no matter what anyone says.

make sure the pan is really hot with a tiny amount of oil in it. And use a fish slice to flip them if you can't make it work!

cod · 27/02/2006 21:50

its just plain flour
