Any decent shop bought pizzas out there?

I often make them, but for one reason and another I need to get my hands on some ready made pizzas that are really good, suitable for grown ups.

Any tips please, as from (distant) memory shop bought pizzas are often disappointing....

Thanks!

The Asda ones made fresh in store are good. Frozen, chicago town take away pizzas taste really fresh and Dr Oetkers are nice and crispy.

redfive · 06/02/2012 18:14

Sainsburys made in store are lovely.

Gumby · 06/02/2012 18:14

Pizza express pizzas & Chicago are nice

PotteringAlong · 06/02/2012 18:16

Waitrose feta and caramelised onion...

AngryFeet · 06/02/2012 18:16

Waitrose ones are good but expensive - lovely mozzerella and pesto one but it is £4.99 (big though - can feed two)

Sandalwood · 06/02/2012 18:16

I like those large fresh Asda ones with all the sweetcorn and peppers etc on.

Newtothisstuff · 06/02/2012 18:17

I second the dr oetker ones yummy

thenightsky · 06/02/2012 18:40

Dr Oetker as the only ones I ever buy these days.... nothing comes close.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 06/02/2012 18:42

Dr Oetker ones from me too.
Chicago town stonebaked are nice.
American Express are good too but at the price they sell for so they should be Grin

MoaningMinnieWhingesAgain · 06/02/2012 18:43

Pizza Express are my favourite, only when on offer though

Frozen - the thin goodfellas ones are nice but rather sweet. Dr Oetker are nice but the base is kind of like thin pastry IMHO.

Asda Extra Special do a nice one with cherry toms on.

belgo · 06/02/2012 18:43

The only vaguely edible one is Dr Oeker, plain margarita.

Asda thin crust vegetable

BigBoobiedBertha · 06/02/2012 19:02

Pizza Express or failing that we used to like Goodfellas - can't remember if they changed the recipe or we just found Pizza Express better.

Shop prepared ones are always horrible imo - doesn't matter what shop.

CountessOlenska · 06/02/2012 19:12

Co op ham mushroom and mascarpone or any if their fancy range

Greythorne · 06/02/2012 19:13

Dr Oeker here, too.

Mozzarella and pesto one ROCKS!

iklboo · 06/02/2012 19:16

Dr Oetker ones are nice. We like the mushroom one and the speciale one.

(I want one now!!!).

NoWuckingFurries · 06/02/2012 19:17

I agree with Countess. The co op fancy pizzas are lovely!

trumpton · 06/02/2012 19:24

Dr Oetker but I prise the cheeses off and top with lots of veg then put cheese back on and then more cheese and bake on a pizza stone. < wonders why I just dont make from scratch ?>

Takver · 06/02/2012 19:45

How urgently do you need them. I usually hate shop bought pizzas, but our local wholefood shop does ones that are genuinely really good IMO. They are quite pricey though (though cheaper than a babysitter!)

I could look & see what brand they are but won't be in there for a day or so.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 06/02/2012 19:47

pizza express
generally if they're not on special offer (£2) at Sainsbo's, then they are at Tesco.

maydarnaychild · 06/02/2012 19:49

waitrose are just divine! huge too

orienteerer · 06/02/2012 19:51

Another vote for Pizza Express

OuchCharlie · 06/02/2012 19:51

Morrisons own cheese feast is always a winner in my household

TheOneWithTheHair · 06/02/2012 19:53

I agree with Countess too. Co-op finest are lovely.
