I want to cook this tomorrow and leave it overnight for the taste to develop and serve on Saturday. However, I cannot find any sweet potato (I live in Italy). Is butternut squash a good substitute? Or, any suggestions as to what I can use. I have been able to get all the ingredients (harissa paste was a surprise) but am having to use coriander seeds instead of the fresh stuff. tia

sounds lovely, might have to nick that one. Are you in the north of italy? I would expect coriander to be more available further south with some of the north african influences in the food?

bang in the middle. I have been to 4 shops and no coriander. Hopefully it won't take away from the taste. I thought if anything, I wouldn't get the harissa paste. I may go to the market tomorrow and see if they have any, doubtful though but they may have the sweet potato!
