I often do scrambled eggs with salmon on croissants. This year i'm think of finger food - so we can eat whilst we open presents... What do you do?

Often DH will make toasted muffins with poached eggs. We also have some panetonne in.

JumpJockey · 21/12/2010 18:04

Muffins with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, and pink fizz (this at DH's insistence). Fuels you up nicely for mass!

though mudmagnet's sounds pretty good... :)

Brunch here too - either scrambled eggs and smoked salmon with muffins, or kedgeree from the night before. Plus Bucks Fizz/clementine juice. Liking Spidermama's walnut toast idea, might steal that Smile.

JingleHell · 21/12/2010 18:12

Panetonne and chocs off the christmas tree!

Maria2007loveshersleep · 21/12/2010 18:23

Panettone & coffee / tea for us... But am also thinking toast with poached eggs & hollandaise also sounds great.

Maybe both Grin

MiasMARY · 21/12/2010 18:29

Bucks fizz.

Should probably get some food too - thinking croissants with ham and cheese?

Iklboo · 22/12/2010 12:53

This year - bacon butties with Mexicana cheese

LoopyLoopsOfSparklyFairyLights · 22/12/2010 12:55

Croissants made with sausages and mozzarella, and bacon and mushroom.

Pantofino · 22/12/2010 13:12

Me and DH - coffee and malboro lights.
DD - chocolate.

Classy, we are!

Doigthebountyeater · 22/12/2010 20:30

Nigella's christmas muffins (served with lurpack and blueberry jam), croissants, copella apple juice and strong cafetiere coffee. Yum!

bacon · 22/12/2010 22:33

wow, surprised how heavy some of these breakfasts are? how do you eat 3 course lunch after a bacon butty?

Like the idea of crossiants. Usually have smoked salmon, cream cheese on bagels but having smoked salmon starter think no-no.

LoopyLoopsOfSparklyFairyLights · 22/12/2010 22:42

Xmas dinner is at about 3pm. Not lunch time, that's how! (Plus don't do starters for Xmas dinner)

SummerRain · 23/12/2010 11:33

We go to my parents for dinner and won't be fed til 8/9 pm so we spend most of the day snacking Grin

LondonMother · 24/12/2010 21:55

Early morning tea as normal. Bacon, egg, mushrooms and tomatoes, orange juice, coffee, possibly toast and marmalade - well before 9, probably nearer 8, when we have this. Lunch at 3. Nothing much later in the day except fruit, tea and the odd bit of chocolate!

In the end we had American pancakes with crispy bacon & maple syrup plus lots of tea/coffee. And then Christmas lunch at 4. Mmmmmm.... Was delicious.
