Um, chocolate normally Xmas Blush

panettoinydog · 20/12/2010 21:28

use a sharp knife to slice off the peel and pith. Then cut into each segment, leaving the tough skin behind and only succulent orange pieces in teh salad.

I don't think I can explain it very well.

bytheMoonlight · 20/12/2010 22:27

Thats the way I normally eat an orange, what's the other way?

If I eat an orange, I peel it with my hands and pull the segments apart.

earwicga · 20/12/2010 22:50

Another one with earwicga but coffee instead.

DC chocolate, clementines and juice

loubeedoo · 20/12/2010 23:06

me - coffee, paracetamol, coffee & more paracetamol
ds - oranges (chocolate variety) and milk (chocolate variety) Xmas Blush

I'm always more excited than dc's (14 & 5) and never sleep on christmas eve. Usually spend it re-wrapping presents (after theyhave been discovered) and spring cleaning house, in between drinking tonnes a bit of vodka and singing to chrismas songs. Xmas Grin

croissants left on the table buffet style with butter and spreads so everyone can wander over and help themselves.

And usually copious amounts of chocolate too Wink

Wordsonascreen · 21/12/2010 08:10

Coffee and paracetamol

megonthemoon · 21/12/2010 08:17

Bowl of cereal and mug of tea as soon as up with DS (2.7) at 6.30-7ish

Then about 9ish when everyone is up and dressed we do scrambled eggs, jamon iberico (luscious Spanish ham but too expensive to have more than once a year!) and toast made from posh bread. And more tea, this time in proper cups and saucers. Posh OJ and coffee for anyone who wants it.

Usually a cheeky bottle glass of fizz while present opening and/or at breakfast.

DCs are young enough (2.7 and 3mo) to not have their own ideas about Christmas so we can make the centre of the morning be leisurely family breakfast and fit present opening around that. I think from next year DS will be more excited about Christmas so it might end up that breakfast ends up fitting in around presents.

Slobbadan · 21/12/2010 08:18

We dont usually have breakfast as lunch is not that far away (kids will have chocolate and prob cereal) but i may invest in some nutella as we only buy that in the holidays and some coco pops or similar as they also get crappy cereal in the hols too!

I also want some pain au chocolate but the danger is i will eat them all myself as DP wont eat them and the kids can be a wee bit fussy.

To all that have a lavish breakfast/brunch do you not have christmas dinner till later?

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 21/12/2010 08:20

chocolate, fags, bucks fizz and whatever else I fancy

this year I fancy smoked salmoon and cream cheese bagels

AuntieMaggie · 21/12/2010 15:46

well I bought bacon and sausages incase we wanted that, but also have ingredients for american pancakes but am now thinking maybe making the nigella xmas morning muffins again as I have some dried cranberry mix left over...

However we may also be having rocky road as I've made so much we'll probablt be eating it well into next year!

KittyTwoShoes · 21/12/2010 17:55

Slobbadan we have breakfast around 9 and Christmas dinner around 3. Everyone is starving. It is massive - I know all Christmas dinners are huge but all our relatives and friends are in shock at how much we eat for Christmas lunch Blush Then we have supper at 8ish - leftover turkey, cold cuts of ham, leftover stuffing, fresh bread, cheese and crackers, and usually some chips as well just because they're yummy Xmas Wink

MeMudmagnet · 21/12/2010 18:01

Mince pies and squirty cream Grin
