hmm

i think it is variable

the chicken kiev, sliced potatoes and red cabbage is good. Also their own tartare sauce is one of the best.

compo · 23/09/2005 12:39

I love their Count On Us swede and parsnip mash yum yum
and the soup....

Red pepper hummus
Really moist little falafel
Stuffed vine leaves
Vanilla milk for the children to make banana smoothies with
The pasta dish with prawns and chillis

But I do think it is variable. Their sandwich range at the moment is still DIRE.

foxinsocks · 23/09/2005 12:48

Don't like ready meals really. Like their haddock gougons for the kids and their vine leaves for me tho.

frannyf · 23/09/2005 12:54

Chocolate cheesecake...those little tubs of yogurt coated cake things...avocado and spinach sandwiches.....the tubs of carrot dippers with thousand island dressing....mmmm hmmm, can you tell it's lunchtime?

KBear · 23/09/2005 13:08

I'm munching on an M&S caesar salad as we speak. I love their food and working opposite the M&S foodstore in London is very convenient but when will they realise that no everyone in the world likes brown bread sarnies?

Enid · 23/09/2005 13:10

I think their vine leaves are horrid - too fibrous

curries not bad

bread not good

fruit excellent -those yellow cherries they did over the summer were gorgeous

jenk1 · 23/09/2005 13:11

i love their beef paste its the best, has anyone tried thr wine?

But remember, this is not just food, this is a woman doing a really porny voice...

Fimbo · 23/09/2005 13:15

My parents buy all their food there - their latest advert doesn't entice me at all though

poppy101 · 23/09/2005 13:16

I like M&S for food, we bought all of the food for my lo christening from them, laid on a small buffet and the food was fab. Worth paying the extra for it.

Enid · 23/09/2005 13:17

that ad makes me barf

compo · 23/09/2005 13:19

really like their wine too. I like the breakfast cereal too and those little flapjacks in a tub

I remember about 17 years ago, going to a friend's house and seeing they had a packet of grated cheese in their fridge from M&S, I was seriously impressed and gobsmacked at the same time! How posh was that in 1988!!

Willow2 · 23/09/2005 13:28

Enid, it drives dh and I to distraction, to the point where he starts shouting, "but it is just food" at the tv. Maybe we should get out more?

lucycat, very posh indeed!

I love the vine leaves too but end up eating them all only 40 cals each though I think?

flamebat · 23/09/2005 13:32

Not had much.... I will say though that the sushi saved my life (cravings), and that I love the meringues
