DD1 and DS have fairly ordinary tastes - I would say DD1s fav is probably meatballs and DS is sausages.

DD2 (20 months) on the other hand devours olives and loves sushi!

OP posts:

DS loves peas. Not very obscure.

MrsRhettKilledTheButler · 15/10/2010 01:01

the garlic inside the garlic stuffed olives.. she likes the olives too but her favourite is sucking out the garlic first!

also a lover of thai green curry

but the thing she asks for more than anything is a cup of gravy to drink Hmm or failing that (when i refuse) she'll have plain rice swimming in gravy

kreecherlivesupstairs · 15/10/2010 11:57

DD adores seafood of any sort. She does turn her nose up at mussels because she prefers octopus and squid.
She is a disaster on any sort of fruit other than rambutan, mango and lychee

Rollmops · 15/10/2010 16:26

DTs (nearly 3) love homemade pate', olives, plain Greek yoghurt, sweet potato, black pudding, DT1 - broccoli, tomato puree straight from the jarShock, venison, wild boar and Eggs Florentine. Fairly average...

MaMoTTaT · 15/10/2010 16:29

DS3 (3) is into picled beetroot sandwiches at the moment (is that obscure enough??) and all 3 DS's absolutely love it

tiokiko · 15/10/2010 17:48

Same as OP's DD - ours is obsessed with olives. When we go to Spain and get olives at the start of a meal we have to hide them after she's had a few or she'll eat nothing else.

Sushi is her next favourite thing - DH and I love it too so it's a nice treat we can enjoy together.

GrimmaTheNome · 15/10/2010 17:51

Not her favourite food, but the only green veg she really likes is samphire.

blueberryboybait · 15/10/2010 17:52

DD1 will eat anything you put in front of her but her favrite is Chicken Katsu curry from Wagamama, MIL won't eat it because it is too spicey. She also loves any dhal dish but offer her chocolate cake or pudding and she turns her nose up at it!!

TheAntiChristi · 15/10/2010 17:56

Sushi and sashimi
OBSESSED with squid
Prawns
Mussels
Winkles

Liver
Kidney

Desperate to try rabbit but haven't cooked it for her yet, but I told her about bone marrow. We bought a beef shin from the butcher and roasted it and she picked the marrow out from the inside, spread it on toast and ate every little bit, scraping it out with spoons and chop sticks.

Funny girl Smile but I LOVE her

TheAntiChristi · 15/10/2010 17:59

grimma that's funny!

DD1 doesn't like strawberries 'unless they are wild' Hmm

lucykate · 15/10/2010 18:00

dd and ds love sushi, olives, calamari, prawns, and anything spicy which is handy as i cook a lot of thai curries.

MrsDinky · 15/10/2010 18:00

Another olive loving DD here. DS (6) can quite often be seen walking round town munching a whole red pepper. He also squeezes lemons and drinks the juice neat. But doesn't like chocolate cake or potatoes. How can anyone not like these?

exexpat · 15/10/2010 18:11

DS (12): moules frites (not so unusual, judging by this thread); any kind of curry but particularly with fish or paneer; egg sushi.

DD (7): black olives, lemons (whole), nori (seaweed), natto, and tofu skin. Oh, and egg sushi. But she won't eat cheese, baked beans, boiled/scrambled eggs or most of the ordinary useful things people feed children here....

wonka · 15/10/2010 18:13

DS 1 Marmite- just dont understand it myself
DS2 Curry
DS3 another olive eater

Trebuchet · 15/10/2010 18:17

ApocalypseCheese · 15/10/2010 20:59

Ds has never knowingly refused anything. All time favorite being pasta tho.

Dd loves squid, octopus, crab, brie etc oh and frozen mixed veg is the in thing at the mo Hmm

Mummy2Bookie · 22/10/2010 16:08

ATM dd adored lentil and veg bake, chicken nepolitan, anything with cheese, yoghurt, fruit, carrots and sweetcorn

livvylouis · 22/10/2010 19:41

My dd's love raw spinich, chick peas and sardines they also love smoked salmon. Put a fish finger in front of them and it's likely to get fed to the dog!

They are 5 and 3.

Mine loves olives, prawns, mussels, asparagus and brussels sprouts. He is 9 now, but has loved all these since he was small.

He has been known to fight with his uncle over the last Brussels sprout! Grin

SoMuchToBats · 22/10/2010 19:46

And loves curries unless they are really blindingly hot.

mufti · 22/10/2010 19:48

cherry bakewells
special k,dry

colditz · 22/10/2010 19:49

Chinese ribs (Ds1 aged 7)
Pizza (ds2 aged 4)

ChippyMinton · 22/10/2010 19:59

DS1 likes gnawing on spare ribs and sucking lemons
DS2 loves marmalade, especially spread on weetabis
DD eats anything - she creeps downstairs at bedtime to pick off DH's plate.

Friend's DC are quite fussy but will eat any kind of seafood and happily pull apart crabs, mussels etc.

latrucha · 22/10/2010 20:01

parmesan cheese. Great hunks of it if she could.
