Not attention seeking, just thought I'd clear off in the proper way,

I've had some amazing things happen since I've been here, good solid friends, life changing things , which I will always be grateful for.

I don't think I'm sensitive flower, I've always been more concerned about upsetting other people than worried for my own feelings.

Having my opinions and viewpoints pulled apart or mocked I can withstand, but to be belittled by people I feel I have chatted over sometime now actually hurts my feelings, - so, after sobbing into my cocoa for the past hour I know it's time to go.

It's surprising the things that finally make you flounce, innit?

He's Barry bum grape. I found it funny at first but that's before he turned into Phil Mitchell's head.

Now not so much!

KatieMiddleton · 13/02/2013 12:39

I don't blame you. Nobody wants Phil Mitchell emerging from their crack. It may go away by itself once there's less pressure.

Is it dc2?

KatieMiddleton · 13/02/2013 12:41

Thumb did dc2 arrive ok? You must have been due some time in Sep/October?? And Pidj, she must have had her baby too? Oh and Flight is due about now I think?

KatieMiddleton · 13/02/2013 12:42

Someone needs to do a baby round-up.

Thumbwitch · 13/02/2013 12:46

PMSL at Phil Mitchell hanging out of someone's crack! Grin

KatieM - yes thanks, DS2 arrived 4 days ahead of due date in mid-October thanks to induction - it all kept nearly going wrong but went right in the end and he was born without real incident, and has been doing really well. He's huge now (see profile pic if you want :) )

I got asked if I was the poster who recently had an entire thread deleted because I broke publishing laws or something. This on a thread where I had just popped in to see if I could help someone. I think she was trying to undermine me (or make me out to be thick) so that was her way. I called her up on it. She never apologised and I was bloody angry as other posters must have wondered if I did indeed break the law and had a thread pulled.

Shit happens. I've been torn apart on Mumsnet, I've been called a rape apologiser. I've had posters link to my threads on other forums and pull me apart on there too. I've had PM threats and been told that someone felt sorry for my children, what with me being a shit mother an' all.

Mumsnet can be really nasty at times. If someone thinks they have lost an argument or thinks you have made them look stupid, they will sometimes waste no time in trying to discredit you, patronise you, intimidate you, etc. But that's the worst case scenario.

Best things that have happened to me; I have had 2 Mumsnetters as clients. Mumsnet HQ helped me out with a work crisis. I've had lovely parcels sent when I was going through a shit time. Complete strangers have gone out of their way to help me. I've had huge arguments with posters and then gone on to completely agree with them and support them on other threads.

For me, the overwhelming kindness of Mumsnet beats the nastiness hands down. It can be hard sometimes to see the wood through the trees, especially when you've had a bad day and feel that everyone on Mumsnet is out to get you and that your reputation is shattered. But it's never that bad. That poster who had a go is probably having a go at someone else now.

Yes it is horrible when posters who you thought were friends suddenly turn against you. Heaven knows many posters have never got over what happened one fateful Christmas when it turned out that many of their friends had started a secret forum of their own.... but you know how loyal you are as a friend. Your conscience is clear and if these people can do it to you, they can do it to others too and probably will. They are not worth your time and are certainly not worth your flounce.

We need all the good people we can get on Mumsnet. So I sincerely hope you sleep on it Fenton and just come back on like nothing has happened. Don't let the bastards drive you out. Why should they benefit from Mumsnet whilst you go without?

Smile
KatieMiddleton · 13/02/2013 12:58

Congratulations Thumb! I can't get your profile to open but will try again when I'm next on pc.

Thumbwitch · 13/02/2013 13:19

Thanks Katie! :)

usualsuspect · 13/02/2013 13:24

Don't come back as Fenton3 though, the side bollocks are a bastard to get rid of.

RandallPinkFloyd · 13/02/2013 13:36

If it's any consolation Rhubarb you were wonderful to me a year or so ago. It was a few name changes ago and I'm sure you won't remember but I do.

You and another handful of vipers literally changed my life.

Thank you Thanks

SconeInSixtySeconds · 13/02/2013 13:51

Gorgeous baby Thumbwitch, makes me v.broody.

Thumbwitch · 13/02/2013 14:06

Thank you Scone! :)

THERhubarb · 13/02/2013 14:42

You're welcome Randall Smile It's what Mumsnet is all about though isn't it? Support and laughs? I'm sure you give a fair amount of support yourself - we all do.

Congrats Thumbwitch, sorry I didn't read your update. Glad he's doing well, such a cutie an' all!

almostanotherday · 13/02/2013 15:50

Quick update from me DS's school is looking into the accident.

Is this now the longest flouncing thread?

I have been drinking hot lemon and honey all day but nothing is stopping my nose from being like a leaking tap :-(

Is Fenton coming back yet?

RandallPinkFloyd · 13/02/2013 15:59

Glad they're looking into it, poor lad must have been scared half to death.

Hope it heals quickly for him.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 13/02/2013 16:02

How is your ds almost ? Hope he isn't too traumatised. Good that the school are looking into it.

PickledInAPearTree · 13/02/2013 16:20
