I wouldn't expect many to recognise me but I just thought I'd say cheerio.

MN is not the place for me anymore.

Recent events have left me completely disillusioned and I just don't have the confidence to post anymore.

I didn't even make it a year! Shame that.

Wishing everyone all the best.

Bye.

I wouldn't bother Dumbledore, it's not worth it.

I have no idea what Fresh Meat is or Made in Chelsea, although I can guess at the latter and it sounds shite. I inwardly cringe with embarrassment when people prove how thick they are.

Gimme QI anyday!

reelingintheyears · 06/10/2011 10:30

Is fresh meat a cookery programme?

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 06/10/2011 10:38

Fresh Meat was very funny last night.

I have wandered into Feminism once or twice and found myself in a similar situation to Rhubarb. It's infuriating, so I don't bother now. Although I bloody well AM a feminist and I've got a Sociology degree and everything so it should be like a home from home for me.

And yes another one here wondering where all these frotting fuckwits on AIBU have come from.

bibbitybobbityhat · 06/10/2011 10:39

See what you mean about your treatment on that Facebook thread Rhubs. And I read that particular sentence in exactly the same way as you and Jamma (could feel myself getting angry on behalf of my dh) but am quite literally too scared to post on the F threads any more. It has been made very plain to me that I am not welcome. So don't bother unhiding ddg (hello) by the way, have you seen I have been having a concerted go at mnhq about aibu. I keep starting threads with lots of people saying yyyyyyyy gotta do something about aibu, but so far they are ignoring me Grin.

Hullygully · 06/10/2011 10:42

Jenai - aren't the charactes good? I knew every one of them in days of yore

TheRhubarb · 06/10/2011 10:42

I have just been told yet AGAIN that I am some kind of rape apologist for believing in sociology.
Getting very angry now.

Oh and apparently you cannot call them a twunt, it refers to women's biology and that's not on you know
It's about time they knew they cannot get away with their bloody rantings and accusations. It's not on.

Hullygully · 06/10/2011 10:43

This will get deleted for being a thread about a thread.

bibbitybobbityhat · 06/10/2011 10:46

No, we will stop talking about it. Consider my arse smacked Hully.

TheRhubarb · 06/10/2011 10:47

Yes but which thread are we talking about now?

Hullygully · 06/10/2011 10:48

I don't miond, Bibs, just reminding.

bibbitybobbityhat · 06/10/2011 10:51

No, it would be a shame if it went pfffft as its full of lurve. And fond memories of Snowy.

Dumbledoresgirl · 06/10/2011 10:51

Bibbity, where are your threads asking for the removal of AIBU? I would post on them if I saw them but my MN seems to be full of clique threads and pregnancy threads (must hide that too - sigh, there will soon be nothing left on my MN).

The fundamental problem in my mind with AIBU is the very premise(sp?): that of having to ask complete strangers if your opinion/stance is right or not. Are there really so many people out there who are so insecure in themselves that they do not know if they are being unreasonable or not? I find that hard to understand. So, assuming I am right, and they do already know that they are being unreasonable, or reasonable, why do they need to seek other people's opinions? Madness!

I much prefer the concept of WWYD? but that topic doesn't seem to attract many takers. In RL, I would never ask "am I being unreasonable?" of my friends, but I might ask "what would you do?"

Sorry for rant. I would post all this on a relevant thread if I could find one.

TheRhubarb · 06/10/2011 10:53

I generally find that all Mumsnetters, except myself of course, are on the whole very unreasonable. So really any such thread should be called Ask Rhubarb. Which is another reasonable response from your resident reasoner Smile

Hullygully · 06/10/2011 10:55

I think you'll find that I am HullyVoiceOfReason. Acksherly.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 06/10/2011 10:58

I am always, always reasonable. I am so reasonable it hurts.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 06/10/2011 11:00

I very rarely venture onto the Feminism board, because it seems to get very personal, very quickly over there. And there seems to be a lot of attacking what you think someone's said, and carrying on doing so even when they say very clearly that's not what they meant.

And I don't like being told that, because I don't agree with them, I must be an ignorant woman who is incapable of thinking for herself. Err - hello - I am thinking for myself - and I'm not going to be bullied into changing my views (and it has certainly felt like bullying, at times).

bibbitybobbityhat · 06/10/2011 11:01

Crikey at the disappearance of your other thread Hullyv.o.r. I spose it went because there was discussion of departed-but-not-much-missed Mnetters.

Hullygully · 06/10/2011 11:04

yes, twas the naming I think

Pinot · 06/10/2011 11:04

Oh it's gawn! :(

Pinot · 06/10/2011 11:05

I didn't name anyone.

TheRhubarb · 06/10/2011 11:07

SDTG - your support was much appreciated. I just wasn't willing to put up with it any longer. That's how they silence the opposition and we aren't even opposing their views, we are simply presenting different ideas and different ways of looking at things. To launch into such vile accusations shouldn't be allowed. I've reported every post that did so.

And when I'm mad I actually get more work done so in that time I've completed an article on TV Aerials Grin I should get mad more often!

Oh was that other thread spirited away? Aw I had named names and everything! Ya boo sucks.

Dumbledoresgirl · 06/10/2011 11:09

Whereas, you see, I am undoubtedly unreasonable most of the time, but am strong enough not to care!

Have ventured on to AIBU and posted 2 completely unhelpful comments. Will now retire.
