I wouldn't expect many to recognise me but I just thought I'd say cheerio.

MN is not the place for me anymore.

Recent events have left me completely disillusioned and I just don't have the confidence to post anymore.

I didn't even make it a year! Shame that.

Wishing everyone all the best.

Bye.

But isn't it okay to be horrified that someone pinched a baby's cheek until it bruised? I haven't read the responses just the op, but I didn't think it was 'madness' that it upset me (unless it was fabricated)

And doesn't this whole wankers v the decent ones reek of playground mentality? Yes there are some on here who piss me off and some I click with but I don't want to join any sides, I am past all that.

Squarebugs
No one is suggesting that feeling upset about a child being hurt is bad. But read the thread. It is full of Sad and mawkish nonsense and aggressive pointless posts.

Some shining beacon of common sense went on this morning and wrote a long bit about having seen it on eastenders and so she was an authority. And that the correct way to deal with it would be for the ops husband to drag the woman by the neck into the street and kick the shit out of her.

If I am being playground to think that is frothing stupidity then so be it

Hullygully · 06/10/2011 09:49

I personally think running one's life after a soap opera is the way forward. But I'm going for Dallas.

TheRhubarb · 06/10/2011 09:53

D'you know what, a lot of threads are pissing me off at the moment.

I stupidly wandered onto a feminism thread about a Cath Elliot article. On there I have been accused of not believing rape victims and actually blaming them for their rapes. I apologised to one poster for the wording of one of my posts that upset her and it wasn't even acknowledged. I've just gone back on to demand an apology myself for the stupid accusations hurled at me because I'm getting really pissed off at those posters who come onto threads, launch into a huge rant, throw around insults and accusations and then bugger off.

Tell you what my lovely ducky posters - let's have an uprising! Don't stand for these aggressive posters anymore. I think we need to take the bull by the horns and start to challenge these people wherever they are.

Let us stand on the beaches and throw sand in their eyes!

Hullygully · 06/10/2011 09:55

Pagwatch · 06/10/2011 10:09

I should be able to laugh but the 'i watched Enders, beat the shit out of her' was one of the single most depressing things I have ever read in my life.
I am trying to be wry but missing a bit

reelingintheyears · 06/10/2011 10:12

reelingintheyears · 06/10/2011 10:18

Old timers disease.

Or is it spelled (spelt) differently?

Dumbledoresgirl · 06/10/2011 10:18

Are all these horrid threads in the AIBU and Feminism sections per chance?

Best thing I ever did on MN was hide those awful topics.

(Though I admit I am sometimes tempted to go on to Feminism and parade my 1950s lifestyle just to see if I can make anyone spontaneously combust.)

Pagwatch · 06/10/2011 10:20

Dumble, Just go on am I being unreasonable and be reasonable. It freaks them out

Hullygully · 06/10/2011 10:21

Doesn't anyone watch Fresh Meat? It's fab, nearly as good as Made in Chelsea.

Dumbledoresgirl · 06/10/2011 10:22

Pag, I can't stand AIBU. It's just so playgroundy. People shouting meaningless twaddle for the sake of it. And other people following the herd - we should rename this site Sheepsnet and have done with it.

But the feministas - I could really cause havoc there! Maybe save it for Christmas?
