Is it any good?!

Yes twice.

I thought it was brilliant but I am a documented Twilight Fanatic so probably best not to take my word for it.

I thought it was very well done, if you liked the others you will enjoy it.

Loved it, loved it, loved it!

Snowstorm · 05/07/2010 13:59

Looks full of action this one - am looking forward to seeing it but am going during the school day as don't want to sit there with a bunch of screaming teenagers!

Does Edward's make-up still have a fleeting resemblance to The Jokers from Batman? Really hope not but thought it did a bit in New Moon (whereas looked fine in Twilight).

It does in places I think it is unavoidable sometimes. Mind you I thought his make up in the car driving back from Port Angeles in Twilight was ridiculous, just wanted to laugh when I saw it.

Also at some points Cullens have the Black Eyes to show they are hungry, which I really liked, good attention to detail.

I went in the evening both times and in the first showing there was a shriek first time Jacob appeared but it was pretty quiet the rest of the time.

Not overly keen on the new Victoria but she was ok. Fight scene with her and Edward was my best bit.

I went on Saturday- to be honest I was a bit disappointed [sad}

I think they got the jist of the book, but they could have done it better. Sadly films of books never live up to my expectations.

There was quite a few shots of Bree Tanner in the film, which makes me wonder whether they will do a film of that too...

Our cinema had 3 screens with it on, luckily our showing only had about 30 people in and all of us were of the more mature age, so no screaming teenagers

Glad I went tho.

Snowstorm · 05/07/2010 14:34

He had very many different looks in Twilight - don't think it was intentional, it's just that he has the kind of face that looks really different from different angles (mental note to self, must use thesaurus to search for news words for 'different') and in different lights.

From pictures the new Victoria looks all right but without having even seen the film I think it's a real shame that they didn't sort it all out to use the original actress because she was absolutely stunning in almost an other-worldly kind of way and just seemed so perfect for the role ... ah well.

Think I have to wait until next week to go and see it ... can't wait!!

As a mature viewer ... am I suppose to skulk in or can I just walk in as though it's okay to be watching a film which was aimed at teenagers? (NB. Watched the first two on DVD - no need to sneak/skulk anywhere).

I am trying to get my friend to go with me, I went to see the last one alone...was still briliant although did feel a bit of a dirty old woman.

Snowstorm · 05/07/2010 14:45

Talking about dirty old women ... I went to see "StreetDance" so that I could have a bit of a drool at the lead guy (who was the lead swan in Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, which I saw for the third time, in January). Went into the cinema feeling like a pervy mum and wondering whether I should be in disguise or something ... and I was THE ONLY PERSON IN THE CINEMA for that film!!! Just me, clutching my bag and mobile (incase anyone reared up from between the seats in the dark) and my 3D glasses. Was the first time I'd been to the cinema on my own and was very funny!

Well luckily I live in a large anonymous city otherwise I am pretty sure I would be a local talking point for the amount of times I have been to see the Twilight Trilogy combined. I wouldn't dare to say how many times on here, it is too sad and embarassing .

I always go alone to the cinema though I don't want to have to worry if someone else is having a good time while I drool over Edward.

catalogoferrors · 05/07/2010 14:58

I saw it yeasterday, was one of the few 'mature' women in there - luckily have forced cultivated a love of all things Twi in my 10 yr old DD.

I thought it was so much better than the other two.

Make up better, costumes better, dialogue way better and some very amusing bits both spoken and visual. I was disappointed by the bed scene (what no leg hitch?) and the tent scene was underplayed but still good.

There were a few cheers when JB first appears topless and some 'ahhs' later on, lots of laughing out loud and a polite round of applause afterwards.

shimmerysilverglitter · 05/07/2010 14:59

Leg hitch was there! It was brief but it was there.

catalogoferrors · 05/07/2010 15:01

I was actually more surprised by the young girls in there as I think my DD at 10 is young to go, than by the single middle aged drooling women.

shimmerysilverglitter · 05/07/2010 15:04

I agree.

I read some interview though that said Stephanie Meyer wrote the saga for women of her own age was was told to change it and market it towards a younger audience as those were the ones who would respond to her subject matter. That is why it appeals to the more um "seasoned" among us!

catalogoferrors · 05/07/2010 15:09

Perhaps I need to go again, just to check out the leg hitch

I did see it but a) it was too subtle and b) the cinematography was so bloody dark us oldies need a little more contrast to see clearly . In my imagination it is way more active than that.

Flamesparrow · 05/07/2010 23:55

When did they start making vamps out of ceramic?

Much preferred it to the last one though. Did they say that the werewolves were shapeshifters in book 3 though? I thought that came out in book 4.

Snowstorm · 06/07/2010 08:54

I think it was end of book 4 (Snowstorm completely 'outs' herself as Twilight geek).

the twisluts are discussing Eclipse here. Feel free to join in! And don't ask about the title.... it made us giggle like mad for about 5 minutes.

And btw, saw the movie last night... loved it.

Snowstorm · 06/07/2010 13:37

Thanks Mystic, will have a look but last time I followed a Twilight thread it turned into adult fiction and I came out blushing!!

OP posts:
TheMysticMasseuse · 06/07/2010 17:48

oh yes, that would be us then. we stopped blushing about 15 threads ago . It's all very silly really, and we don't take it too seriously, well not usually

Snowstorm · 06/07/2010 20:58

You are all very creative!!!

I'm going for the third time this weekend and taking my long suffering husband again. When I went I would say the audience was a 50/50 mix of teens and mature sorts like myself including (DH was delighted) loads of men - no doubt dragged along.

It was brill. I'd have liked a bit more romance TBH but I understand why they toned it down. Proposal and tent scene are lovely and Ed/RP is back to looking gorgeous (I thought he looked a bit odd for much of New Moon).

If I could gripe at all, it's that the music isn't used v well or effectively. But that's about it.

shimmerysilverglitter · 07/07/2010 09:42

I am going again for third time on at midnight on Thursday. Alone again, no-one will go with me . I don't mind though.

spaceforthree · 07/07/2010 09:45

shimmery you don't live in the south west do you????

shimmerysilverglitter · 07/07/2010 09:50

No, London. Although if you lived near me would you actually be up for going to see it at least 26 times? Because that is how many times I went to see Twilight .

Snowstorm · 07/07/2010 13:18

WOW Did you not think about buying the DVD instead Shimmery?!!

The Twilight films/books seem to have something a bit obsessive compulsive about them don't they ... hmmm!

DH said I can go at the weekend - he'll take the DC to see 'Shrek' - YEY, everyone's a winner! And that means that if I want to go again during school on Tuesday then I can (and nobody need know)!
